Wiltshire airstrips   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #35 of 213 |
This is my first(hopefully of many)posting and please excuse me if any
of these issues / airstrips have been identified elsewhere.

Two notable absences from the Wiltshire List appear to be the following.

NORTON ST PHILIP/ Brown Shutters Farm. This strip is to be found just
inside the Wiltshire county boundary at Grid ref: ST787570

Lat: 51:18:39N Lon: 2:18:29W

It is in the immediate north-west corner of the A36 / A366 junction and
is oriented apoproximately 15/33

YATESBURY There is a microlight strip running just north of the A4 and
running parallel to it on part of the old Yatesbury airfield and due
south of Yatesbury village. This is the base of the Wiltshire Microlight
Centre. The strip is to be found at Grid ref: SU060700
Lat: 51:25:52N Lon: 1:54:28W.

The strip is oriented 11/29. There is a website at:
http://www.wiltsmicrolights.com/main.html

Both these strips are visible on the multi-map aerial photos.

The ukga website lists a strip at Haydon Farm Taunton and multi-map
shows a possible small strip oriented 01/19 south-east of the M5/A358
junction. Does anyone have any info about this and is this the same as
the West Hatch strip on Richard's list?
