I have withdrawn the name of the (known)local strip at the wish of
the operator. However, he has said that anyone wishing to fly in or
visit by road should contact him first. I can supply the telephone
number for anyone interested.
During my visit this week two events are prominent. Firstly, on the
way by bus from Winchester to Crawley I was just approaching the
village when I noticed what appeared to be a windsock just to the south
of the village atop a ridge.
Secondly, a Mr Stratton operates an aircraft repair business(Stratton
Aircraft Services)locally at New Barn Farm where can be found a few
interesting items, including some migrated from Roughay Farm at Lower
Upham, and he welcomes a SHORT visit BUT expressly by aviation
enthusiasts. A brief chat about vintage aircraft or
building/maintenance would be welcome.
And I offer a warm welcome to this group for the new recent members.
Richey.
