If you, or anyone else, is serious I will still sell my Aixam for £500 is they
can pay and collect promptly (within next week otherwsie I will repair and use
myself then sell for a lot more on eBay when I've done the MOT work on my
Minor).
It has no MOT and need minor attention but other than headlights / drivers
internal door handle no parts required.
One CV boot, one rack gaiter, joint at bottom of steering column, one mirror
glass need changing - but are included as I've bought them already.
Tyres are all good but rears have slow punctures due to sealing on alloy rims.
Exhaust (new flexi joint) and battery good.
Nil miles since engine oil, filter fuel filter and gearbox oil (proper
synthetic) changed.
Gearbox changed around 5000 miles ago when previous owner selected reverse
whilst still rolling forward.
I change drive belt approx 2000 miles ago.
Glow plugs and fan belt recent.
New accelerator cable (original starting to fray) supplied ready to fit.
I pinched the stereo for my car but another (Sony) ready to refit.
Original (joke) seats binned and Fiat items fitted to standard subframes. That
means standard seats can be refitted if you are a masochist :-)
Gear selector loose on floor - needs nuts & bolts instead of standard captive
nuts which have broken loose.
Instant starter even after standing for months at a time.
Just under 21,000 miles.

Basically it is surplus and needed new headlights due to silvering
comming off reflectors.
No takers at £500 (1999, V reg, 20000 miles, new gearbox done around
5000 miles !) so I've decided to put it back on the road whilst I do a
few jobs to it's replacement (a Morris Minor).
I've contacted the local Aixam agent (Websters, Hanley,
Stoke-on-Trent) and they want £45 incl vat for each headlight.
Is this the normal going rate for Aixam headlights or are Websters
marking them up too much ?
Has anyone found alternatives which fit (motorbike ?) that are cheaper
or available secondhand ?
The current headlights just have which I assume is the manufacturer
NIOX on the lense. I've searched for suppliers but cann't find any
mentioned on web sites. Anyone suggestions to where NIOX headlights
can be obtained, other than Aixam, as I've found in past (Volvo £150,
Bosch agent £70) that buying direct from component agent is far cheaper ?
Thanks.
Paul Humphries.
