How very disconcerting to see 27 Feb.2001 as a poss.last posted
message date. However, I will perserve in the hopes that Alan
Titchmarsh may eventually read this.
I am a 61 female born and for the most part, bred in the North of
England, just outside Doncaster. A gardener, of sorts for most of my
life. A woman who grew up in idlyic surroundings,(I now live in
Portsmouth and Spain).Am currently coming towards the end of
reading "Nobbut A Lad"" which, because of health issues ( I had
breast cancer 3yrs ago. fine for 18mths, but then struck with 3
secondaries, all under control, but 6wks. ago given the news that I
maybe, just maybe only have 6-12 months to live!). Well, we Yorkshire
people do not accept such news, and am indeed as I write, doing
exceptionally well. Easy light, humorous with quality to it has
therefore come to the forefront, and I bought your book in WHS and
have been reading it during the wee small hours, smiling, laughing,
just feeling happy to read all the memories you have recalled in such
succint fashion - joy! (yes, am sure you have been uncertain about
events recalled to memory, was it photos, a remark someone made, or
genuinely true keenly remembered memories - I believe yours are and
were true memories, poss. with help from your sister Kath - the
clarity is too great. This story of your life in the 50's has moved
me to do something similar, though definately not for publication -
family use only and in the wee small hours when the steroids have me
Mrs. Whirling Dervish I have started to tackle this, I have reached
the age of 8 now!!! And so, this is just to say thankyou, for giving
me that extra boost. It is going to be such fun trying to type at
least 4 pages a day. I have 3 more of your books yet to read -
gardening books no longer required, although pleasing to glance
through. So your Fiction only. Good luck in all your new ventures -
I have not watched you on UK TV of late, but am sure it will happen.
Thank you for taking the time -poss. to read this. From a woman who
I think has good taste in men - confirmed this weekend by my
Cambridge Acaedemic Doctorate brother-in-law, who finds you
absorbing - and REAL!!! Regards, Geni Yates

I just finished reading "Rosie". The poem at the end of the story
touched my heart. I lost my mom in January. She'd been ill, but her
death was sudden. Years ago, I was looking through her Bible and
found the very same poem as Rosie's. When I asked mom about the poem,
she said she wanted it read at her funeral some day. I read that poem
at her funeral in January. Reading it again in a work of fiction was
like hearing from Mom again. Thank you, Mr. Titchmarsh.

Sincerely,
Donna Wheeler

Hi,
I would like everyone to pray for my husband. Sunday afternoon we found out that
he has cancer of the esophogus that is possibly stage 3. We won't know until the
results of the PET scan come back. There is one lumph node near the stomach that
they are not sure if it is just swollen because of everything going on or if it
is tied to the cancer. If it is, then he is stage 3, if not then he is stage 2.
They are going to do chemo and radiation then operate to remove it, then some
chemo to be safe and make sure nothing got away from them. I am praying for a
miracle that the PET scan is negative for any other cancer and after all the
treatment and operation is complete that that will be it and it will not
reoccur. Please pray for this miracle with me. He is the love of my life, he IS
my life and best friend and we have been together for almost 24 years, have
three beautiful sons and three beautiful grandsons. He is my best friend in the
whole world. I cannot be without him. Please pray

Thanks,
Dodi

Hi Everyone,

I love gardening and Mr. T. I am in California and I would love to hear tales
from gardener's in England and elsewhere.

It is hard to find a Ground Force episode on BBCAmerica right now. I think I
have seen each episode five times. At one point I wrote BBCAmericaand asked them
to please run any other show that they had with Mr. T. They ignored me.

Thanks,

JoAnne Farley

Hi there whoever u are,

I'm a 53+ mum of two who loves gardening and Mr. T. Only got a small plot but
have lots of pots of various sizes. Been rained off today, so painted the
bathroom instead!

Let me know about yourself if you want to exchange gardening tales or whatever.
