Hi All,
Next week I am speaking at the Enterprise Tools roadshow in Wellington on Thursday afternoon at the Duxton and in Auckland on Friday morning at the Carlton. This 3 hour session will include the following short talks showing how these multiple vendors tools integrate together in a seamless way. - Richard Foy of BearingPoint from Wellington - Richard will talk about how the consulting approach of BearingPoint drives a project ahead. Richard will also introduce the sample project for the rest of the talks. - Richard Vowles of Borland from Auckland - Richard will show how Borland design tools can be used to define the problem before starting the code cycle by generating code or synchronising design and code. - Paul Andrew of Microsoft from Wellington - Paul will take the design and show implementation on the .NET platform using Borland C# Builder. - Peter Lilly of Mercury Interactive from Australia - Peter will show how Mercury test tools can be used for quality assurance in the development. There is no charge for this seminar and I hope you'll join us. For more information, or to register online click here. The silly season is starting and I have some leftovers in the prize cupboard. So I thought I'd just give them all away to NZ MSDN Flash subscribers. First in first served, just send me an email before Friday 12th December with your full name and postal address and I'm asking your company name and title as well. I have retractable ethernet cables and Hoyts double movie passes, tell me which you'd prefer. While stocks last. mailto:nzeditor@... If you haven't watched the Lap around Longhorn as advertised below, I really enjoyed it both for the excitement of improved user interface design and for the entertainment. Speaking of Longhorn, many sessions from the Professional Developers Conference are viewable online for a limited time.
Best Wishes and Merry Christmas,
Paul Andrew

Sunkist Growers Create Fruit Accounting System with Visual Basic .NET
To track and pay its grower members accurately for each bulk shipment of citrus fruit delivered to its processing plants, marketing cooperative Sunkist Growers needed to update its Fruit Accounting and Fruit Tracking system. Rather than revise the original system, Sunkist turned to the Microsoft .NET Framework and Visual Studio .NET, plus .NET productivity tools and services from PDSA Inc., to create a new, more flexible and maintainable system in a timely fashion.
