Angel Meadow Park is situated close to the city centre of Manchester, UK in the Northern Quarter. St Michael's Church once stood on the site and LS Lowry's depicted the area in several of his paintings.
Friends of Angel Meadow (FOAM) started campaigning for the park's redevelopment in 2004 and since then considerable money has been raised through grants and Manchester City Council interest; which has led to the renovations and re-landscaping; now transforming it into a green retreat from the bustle of the city.
FOAM actively encourage preservation, fund raising and social events and in the past year, we have organised:
· Clean up days.
· Bulb and wildflower planting
· Guided history walks and history workshops to research the heritage of the area.
· Fund raising including social events, trips and parties.
Please join FOAM - memberships is free and your contribution and enthusiasm will help to persevere Angel Meadow Park as a beautiful green oasis.
