Re: [angelmeadow] Booklet front and back covers

Hi Athena

Thanks for your email concerning the proposed front cover. I
couldn't originally access the re-designed cover on the Yahoo FOAM
website because the file size was too large.

However, I have taken the file you sent me and published it in
Acrobat, which compresses and reduces the file size. Therefore I
have now uploaded this onto the Yahoo website for other people to
look at.

It is located at: Files / Alternative_FrontCover_201005.pdf

A couple of notes:

1. The photo is of children who awaiting the arrival of the
Duchess of Sutherland at the Charter Street Ragged School, which is
adjacent to Angel Meadow. The wall in the background is perimeter
wall at Aspin Lane and the plaque embedded in the wall, can still be
seen to this day. (i.e. they are not waiting for a train).
2. The booklet is aimed at children between 12 – 18 and adults.
The content is quite detailed containing graphic descriptions of the
poverty of which the area was re-known for during the late 1800s/
early 1900s. (Primary/ kinder garden children are not really the
target audience).

The colour scheme of Red borders was chosen at the FOAM meeting on
the 22/09.

I hope this helps clarify the design decision for the booklet,

Regards
Mike

bright colour, which is red now as the background colour. Since I
think this will distract the power of the photograph.

for a kindergarten and research that kids like colour like colouful
alphabets and this is what they feel attractive and beautyl it.
