Six out of the eight history interpretation boards have in the last
couple of days been graffiti with an indelible pen. The vandal has
scrawled the same message over each of the boards and on the back of
one.
The boards only erected early this year in June, were the result of
a Local Heritage grant and the joint efforts of FOAM and Groundwork
in writing and collating historical content. It is a great shame
that they are now ruined.
Furthermore graffiti can be seen on one of the upright gravestones,
which marks the border of one of the benches just off the lower
pathway. More graffiti can be seen on the wall under the railway
bridge & on the steps leading to the garage at the end of the
meadow.
FOAM will work with the council to ensure ALL graffiti can be erased.
Please be in future vigilant of any suspicious behaviour and report
it immediately to either:
the Police on 0161 8725050 - please request a crime reference number
otherwise the complaint is not logged.
or
Louise Palin, East Manchester Park warden on 0161 223 8278 or mobile
07717 341028.
