Hi,
What a great weekend just gone!
On Friday 2nd June, BBC News North West ran a prime time feature on
the park, in particular Dianne Oxberry presenting the weather.
Several FOAM members were interviewed (Frank and Dr Mike Pollard),
and the whole feature was really well done, with the park looking
really spacious and beautiful.
On Sunday 4th June, we welcomed a host of stalls and visitors to the
BBC Springwatch and Festival of Nature day. The weather was great
and over a 1,000 visitors – many from some distance away (Preston,
Liverpool etc) wandered around Angel Meadow looking at the various
stalls including English Nature, Manchester Leisure and several
friends groups such as Clayton Vale and Blackley Forest.
FOAM had a gazebo at the entrance of the park where we handed out
our Newsletter Issue 4 and showed some presentation boards on the
regeneration of the park.
During the day, the butterfly garden was planted (see photos), PC
Plum from Balamory turned up to the excitement of the kids, Sheila
Lemoine ran a number of history walks which were well received, a
lot of people "found" our hidden green-space and above all everybody
left with a great sense of achievement.
I would like to very much thank all the volunteers of FOAM who
helped man the gazebo during the day.
A selection of photo's have been uploaded onto this website – see:

300 copies have been printed on recycled paper in an A5 booklet by
MARC the printers. Most have been distributed during the Springwatch
day, to the surrounding apartment blocks, that overlook the park and
Marble Arch pub.
If you haven't received one or would like a second – drop me an
email.
Alternatively an electronic copy is now available on this website –
