Reply | Forward Message #291 of 453 |
Hello,

I am pleased to announce that Sheila Lemoine (FOAM member and Blue
Badge guide) will be leading us on a fascinating Guided History Walk
around Ancoats and Angel Meadow Park.

The details are:

Sunday 29th April 2007

* Start 11am at Café North, 66 Shudehill
* Finish 2pm at The Marble Arch Pub, Rochdale Road

Cost £3 which will be donated to Friends of Angel Meadow, plaque
restoration fund.

The walk will winds its way through the intriguing history of
Ancoats, once a melting pot of Irish and Italian immigrants, then
down into Angel Meadow where in the 19th Century the Cholera epidemic
reigned supreme.

A poster advertising the walk has been uploaded onto this website -
please see

Files > Forthcoming Events >Guided Walk-2 290407.pdf

Sheila's walks are very colorful, memorable and enjoyable so please
come along - remember ALL are invited.

Regards,
Mike Wingfield
