Hi Maggie,
St Michael's Flags and Angel Meadow Park - is considered to be the
gateway to the Irk Valley - The Irk River runs parrallel to the
park - so if you google map the postcode of the park - try M4 4TF
you'll see the river Irk
There is a wealth of history & useful information on the FOAM
website. Check out:
Files / History Notes / Lots of documents etc which were collated
and used for the history plaques which are now located in Angel
Meadow park
Links/ Lots of useful links including http://www.irkvalley.info/
and details about Moston Vale
Also the Wikipedia entry on the park -
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_Michael%
27s_Flags_and_Angel_Meadow_Park which links to details on the
River Irk.
Happy reading and hope to hear soon from you about volunteering for
the Heritage Steering Group,
Regards,
Mike
