Sorry I couldn't attend Mike, I was in work til 9:30 that night.
I would be in favour of making any play area as low key as possible, if we
do have to have one at all! This is NOT a place where families would bring
their kids to play - they'd head for Heaton Park or somewhere like that
instead. I think this is going to be used by local residents (mostly
professionals) and local workers, who definitely won't want teenagers with
skateboards taking the place over.
I also totally agree with you about the name. Groundwork is focused on the
Irk Valley thing because it's a large project which they've been working on
for some time. But that shouldn't be allowed to 'bulldoze' the names Angel
Meadow or St Michael's Flags, which would otherwise risk being lost to
history.
