Hi there,
Happy New 2005 Year to you all......
I've been asked to pass on the following which may interest you,
B of the Bang Launch Celebration
12 January 2005, Sportcity, East Manchester
Starts 5.15pm and finishes with a firework finale, orchestrated
by "Walk the Plank" at 6.30pm

band Freefaller, footballer Rio Ferdinand and mascots Moonchester
and Moonbeam, along with other star guests at the unveiling
celebration of the B of the Bang – Britain's tallest
sculpture.
The 184ft tall structure, commissioned by New East Manchester, to
commemorate the 2002 Commonwealth Games, is the creation of artist
and former Manchester Metropolitan University graduate, Thomas
Heatherwick and was inspired by Linford Christie's explosive
power
off the blocks. The 100m runner memorably stated that during his
gold medal-winning career, he aimed to sprint out of the blocks on
the `B of the bang' of the starter's gun.
The spectacular show, hosted by Key 103's Mike Toolan, will
feature
celebrity appearances and live music from a variety of special guest
artists and bands, as well as community acts such as
Cheerleaders "Eastland Stars".
