Hello All,
Firstly, I would like to send out best wishes to Annie. As most of
you will know, Annie was the founder member but left due to ill
health. If you are still recieving messages Annie, it would be great
to hear from you.
Now for the other reason for the email. I am currently the only
moderator. I did not volunteer for this job - i simply got given the
position by a previous moderator who left the position / group.
I am quite happy to put a little effort into it to keep the group
running, but wondered how much interest there really is. I would be
the first to admit that i have been very busy of late so have not
even visited the site, let alone post messages or play an active
role.
In fact, I have only just got round to making a positive step. I
recieve all messages, rather than just Special Notices. The only
recent messages have been links to adult sites. These messages have
been deleted and the sender removed from the group. Unless members
ask otherwise, I will endeavour to keep taking this action.
I intend on this group being used for the issues that Annie set it
up for. If people want to post messages regarding reptiles (either
keeping the group up to date on recent events, or seeking advice,
for example) or simply to keep in contact with other members - then
that is great. I am not happy for this message service to be used as
an advertising media for unrelated sites.
As stated, if you - the members - disagree with this action, then
please let me know and i will reconsider my actions.
If anybody would like to join me as a moderator, then please let me
know. I would be happy to have other people's input on taking the
group forward if at all possible.
I would close by appealing for members to play a more active role. I
am sure that by using the knowledge of other members, many of us
(and in turn the hobby also) will benefit.
Regards,
Andy Pont
