Hello Nick / everyone.
Thanks for your emails. I i tried to reply to the one yesterday, but it
failed. Apparently 'cos i didnt send it as a plain text - though i
always have sent them as rich text in the past ............... strange.
Anyway, yes, I can pretty much send an email to everyone. As you may be
aware, when anyone joins a Yahoo group they get three options to choose
from regarding email. The first option is to receive all group messages
(as we are all no doubt doing now). The second option is by far the most
commonly used - this is to receive special notices only. The Third
option is to not receive any messages - the member has to keep up to
date by visiting the site.
There are only 8 members of our group that chose the third option.
Whilst I can override this and change individuals settings to allow
delivery of messages - i do not think that is a useful option. I believe
I have to respect peoples wishes regarding email.
The initial message at the weekend that started this topic ("Interest in
the group???") WAS sent out as a special notice. In other words, 80 out
of the 88 members received this. Obviously I am one of the 88, and got
responses from 3 of you guys. Thanks again Dan, Minibeasts & Nick.
I would really like to know what the other 84 people are thinking.
Hopefully there will be some who simply havent had time to check email
or reply - but it certainly dont look good :-(
Some of last nights' reply pasted into this message - in case of any
interest:-
Hi Nick & all members
Thanks for the reply. At the moment I am only to happy to keep the group
going.
There are at least a few of us interested, and it isn't taking much of
my time to keep it moderated - probably 'cos i aint doing much to it :-) !!
Any suggestions to improve it / or add further interest would be greatly
appreciated from any members. I keep thinking about updating the
homepage and adding a new picture perhaps - but believe that Annie
should still have some influence on the club that she founded (or at
least co-founded). Her opening statement probably sums up the group
better than i could anyway !! ------- Thoughts, anyone??
Regards,
Andy
