Agree a lot of the acts were ridiculous - Tom Jones with that boyband
for example. The backing band weren't that bad (at Phil Collins only
sang once - No not a fan before anyone asks) and gigs like that don't
tend to be top quality sound etc as acts can't have thier own
equipment and time doesn't allow for full soundchecks between acts as
the audience gets fed up.
Anyway he didn't totally toe the lie at the palace surely singing
LOLA goes against some royal protocall or goes a bit close to some of
their hobbies LOL(sorry antiroyal mode this morning)
i liked it - a chance to see a Kink on TV is nothing to moan about

Ray was OK at the Jubilee concert. He managed to make the Queen
smile and that's not easy!! Maybe it wasn't the most mindblowing
performance in the history of rock 'n' roll but what the heck he
managed to get the crowd participating. Ray's major strength is his
fantastic songwriting skills. The variety of songs is mindblowing
and the depth of his material is staggering.
