The Real Mystique presents the UK's very first...
SUHAILA SALIMPOUR FORMAT
Multi-level Intensive
June 6th - 10th 2008
in Beautiful Exeter, Devon, United Kingdom
" It's not just a technique... it's a revolution"
Taught by Certified Suhaila instructor Sabriye Tekbilek.
I am very excited to be the first to offer Suhaila Salimpour Format
here in the UK. If you don't know who this lady is - she is the
biggest name in bellydance in the United States, a 2nd generation
dancer - her Mum is Jamila Salimpour often considered to be the
grandmother of Bellydance in the USA - she is also the very beginning
of Tribal style - ATS and Tribal fusion started here. Suhaila is a
genuis, who age 14 got bored with all she already knew about
bellydance and started to envision her own style of bellydance that is
incredibly complex. She started to break every isolation down into
it's muscle components so that she could clearly layer one move over
the other. She also created an incredibly safe way of dancing in the
process. She is the master of layering being able to clearly layer up
to 7 layers at once. We will only being doing 2 maybe 3 in our
training so don't panic yet! She is the lady to train with if you want
technique, safe dancing, to get a dancers body, layering skills or
simply to push yourself as a dancer or even to reach your maximum
potential as a dancer. You'll find many of theTribal fusion Bellydance
Superstars trained with her - most notably Rachel Brice, Sharon
Kihara, Moria, Samantha Hasthorpe, Kami Liddle. She also produces
incredible caberet dancers. At levels 1 and 2 you are only learning
technique and it can be applied to any style of bellydance. There are
5 levels of certification and I chose to stick with Level 1 and 2 this
time as you will find that you will be stretched plenty for quite a
while with this material - bear in mind the above ladies are only
level 1 and 2 certified to realize how rich this material is.
The intensive will be physically demanding and mentally too. You will
sweat and you will love it too. Be prepared to be challenged. It is
strongly recommended that your prepare for the intensive either with
Suhaila's fitness fusion series DVDs ( Buns and pilates are the best)
or I will do a couple of preparation drills and strengthening
workshops before then:- Friday 27th 8.15pm - 10.15pm and weds June 4th
8 - 10pm all in Exeter at The Mint. Tues 3rd June in Tiverton is also
a possibility 7.30 - 9pm.You must book for them in advance . £15 each
or £33 for 3. If you can't do either of these I'd recommend practise
lots of cho cho shimmies in relevee ( balls of feet ), staddle squats
for a minimum of 1 minute, and alternating gluteous clenches( bum
muscle by itself - no pelvic floor or quad /thigh muscle).
5 hours a day (10 -4pm) for five days of an amazing high level
bellydance training like nothing you have ever experienced before.
Train with one of the best .Learn an incredibly thorough, challenging,
precise and safe way to dance. No matter how much you already know you
will grow temendously as a dancer, and learn how to use your body in a
way you never dreamed was possible! For all styles of bellydance. This
intensive will cover Level 1 & 2 material, some Jamilia Salimpour
Format and a choreography. Suhaila's website is www.therealsuhaila.com
. Sabriye's is www.sabriyetekbilek.com.
"She is a dancer's dancer, and will always challenge, encourage, and
re-inspire you. If you haven't taken a week-long workshop from her,
you really owe it to yourself and your dancing to go, every single
penny is worth it: you'll be using what she taught you for years."

DIRECTIONS TO WORKSHOP LOCATION:
From the South (A38/M5 Northbound) - leave M5 at junction 30. Take the

third exit to City Centre and follow Topsham Road for about 2 miles,
passing the Crematorium, County Hall and St Leonard's Parish Church.
You will eventually reach a major intersection with a double set of
traffic lights. Go straight across into South Street. Follow the one
way system into Market Street. At the T junction at the end of Market
Street, for the Church Car Park, turn left and the Church is almost
immediately on your right. For Mary Arches Multi Storey Car Park, turn
right and immediately left into Mary Arches Street – car park is about
200 yards on your right.
From the North and East (A30 Honiton/M5 Southbound) From M5 Junction
29, follow signs to Exeter City Centre, past Met Office and under a
bridge. At T- junction traffic lights, turn right towards Heavitree
and City Centre. Continue for approx one mile. At the road fork
traffic lights, take the left hand fork along Magdalen Road. Pass
through the shops and turn left at the junction onto the Inner
By-Pass.Follow the one way system around the side of a pub which
brings you to a major intersection with double traffic lights. Turn
right at these lights into South Street. Follow the one way system
into Market Street. At the T junction at the end of Market Street, for
the Church Car Park, turn left and the Church is almost immediately on
your right. For Mary Arches Multi Storey Car Park, turn right and
immediately left into Mary Arches Street – car park is about 200 yards
on your right.
From the West (A30 Okehampton) - Take the exit for Exeter City Centre
and follow signs to the centre. At the Exe Bridges roundabout, cross
the river making sure you are in the right hand of the three lanes.
Once over the river, turn immediately right and then immediately left
into New Bridge Street. Go up the hill, which turns into Fore Street.
The Church is on the left at the top of the hill. For Mary Arches
Multi Storey Car Park, continue a few yards past the Church and then
turn left into Mary Arches Street – car park is about 200 yards on
your right

centre until you reach the T Junction. Turn right onto the High
Street. Go across the junction with North St/South St and then past
British Home Stores on your right. The Mint is just past the junction
with Mary Arches St, opposite the Walkabout Australian bar.
The Mint Methodist church is opposite The Walkabout pub on Fore Street
and next to Kwik print. You will see a big church set back from the
road with car park. Go into the carpark and instead of going straight
into the church turn left in front of it and then right through the
gate into the little lane ( Mint Lane ). On your right you will see a
building with a bright blue door and a bell that says "school room".
Press it and I will buzz you in, you will have to pull the door in
hard for it to open.Sometimes it doesn't work, so just wait for me or
one of the students to come down and open it. Go up the stairs and it
is the room on your left. www.themint.org.uk/map.htm has links to two
maps one with an arrow and the other a red circle to mark the location
of the Mint
PARKING: There is a carpark for the Methodist church that is
unofficially available, basically if the church isn't using it, which
is likely to be the case all day and evening Sat, no one will be
checking it, so you can park there. On Sunday you will probably have
to find street parking on Fore street or you can continue up the
street a bit further and turn left into the Mary Arches carpark.During
the week you can park at Mary Arches carpark or down by the Exe
roundabout.
