"No, no....... no those go in those boxes and those in those boxes." Jen said looking at the movers. The past few days had been movers and more movers while the Lane family was gearing up for a large move.

"Hey I'm home....... sorry that took longer than I expected let's just say that the personnel office hasn't exactly improved on customer care." Ed said with a small smirk.

"Yay! Daddy is home!" Amira shrilled as she ran into the family room.

"Sweetie indoor voice." Jen said rubbing her forehead, "and no problem.... we've just been getting the next batch of things organized." Jen said leaning in and giving her husband a quick peck on the lips.

Ed leaned down and picked up Amira, "my you've grown baby girl." Ed said kissing Amria on her forehead and then returning his wife's kiss, "is there anything I can do to help?"

"No not with the organizing but if you could get Amira fed and take her for a walk that would be perfect. She's been going a little stir crazy." Jen said with a smile trying to hide the fact that she was nervous about up-rooting.

"Yea I can do that. Seeing that I probably won't be seeing you guys for a few weeks while you head over to Versailles." Ed said with a smile to Amira. "How about we try that new cafe. You like the sound of that baby girl." Ed said with a smile.

Amira just nodded, "can I get a pastry?" She asked her eyes beaming with the thought of sugary goodness.

"Of course...... but you can't tell your mom." He said winking at her knowing that she knew that Jen heard this conversation. Jen just smiled and watched the two walk out of the house which was on Acadmey grounds.

Once outside two MACO Corporals greeted him. Ed just shook his head now that he was of importance he got a nice welcoming party every time he would leave a place. The driver of the vehicle was also a MACO but a Sergeant. "Who are these men?" Amira asked as Ed buckled her in.

"They're here to make sure you, me and mommy stay safe." He said with a smile knowing that she wouldn't understand that they now had a very large target on them from any group that detested the Federation. It didn't take long for them to get to the new cafe, "stay with the car." Ed said to the two Corporals.

=/\= Blue Moon Cafe, San Francisco =/\=

"Hows your pastry?" Ed asked Amira with a smile as he sipped on a iced coffee it was a very hot day in San Fran and Ed was enjoying every minuet of it.

"It's the best pasty I've ever had!" She squealed in delight.

Ed looked at his chronometer, "alright baby girl we better start heading home mommy well start wondering where we went." Ed said with a small laugh. Ed allowed Amira to finish up her pastry while he finished his drink and they once again piled into the car and headed home.

A Mission Post by Commander Kestiana Sahal & Captain Korath & Lieutenant Commander Sara Lenera & Lieutenant Acel'a & Lieutenant Jason Raygard M.D.
Mission: Double Jeopardy
Location: FairWinds
Timeline:

~*~ Transporter room ~*~

Kestiana made her way to the transporter room with Captain Bodak. "Captain I need to prepare guest quarters for you and your crew, To do that I need my crew returned to me. Some of your crew may still need to be treated for lack of Oxygen." Kestiana said as she walked with him.

"I will make the arrangements." Bodak said.

"I would appreciate that." Kestiana said.

~*~ Old Crew Quarters ~*~

Lieutenant Acel'a had just finished eating what she replicated and was now doing a slow pace, out of sheer boredom. She wondered when they would be released and what was taking so long.

Sara was eating something and drinking tea. She got the food from the replicator and looked at the door and wondered, when they will let us all out. This was beginning to be ridiculous, to think we had something to do with the damages of the ship, {{we didn't do a thing}} she thought as she sat in pure bordem herself with the others.

Acel'a looked over at Sara and spoke. "We'll be out of here soon. I can sense it, even without raising my pantograph," she said, trying to sooth her nerves. "We are all bored and frustrated, but I believe it wil all work out in the end."

Sara looked at Acel'a , "thanks alot i need that with my telepathy i sense were to get out soon , but when i dont know"she told Acel'a. "I wonder whos gonna free us,? is the question"Sara said.

Hogan stayed quiet. He was in no mood to keep pleading innocence.

Raygard for his part just sat on one of the chairs by the dining table. He too was bored but he was sure it was just a matter of time before the group was released. His only overriding concern was for the health ant wellbeing of both the away team and the crew of the Fairwinds... He felt helpless and just wanted to be able to do his job...

~*~ Fair winds transporter room ~*~

As Bodak and Commander Sahal stepped off the transporter pad and walked out into the main corridor of the Fair winds; the air seemed to be less stale. The creeking and groaning of the ships hull belied the precarious nature of the situation. The two stepped into the crew quarters. Bodak nodded to Xera. "There is a change of plans, according to the Federation ship there is no way the Fair winds will survive towing. we will be evacuating our people and theirs back to the Archer."

Xera looked to him thoughtfully. She had been having serious doubts lately on if they had been the one's to attack or not. "Can we trust them?" Xera asked her husband more worried about their son right now than the ship.

Kestiana looked around. "Here's a copy of the reports, We're not asking you to trust us, we just want to get you safely back to Versailles. Captain Korath and I have every intention of finding those responsible for what happened here." Kestiana explained.

`They have helped us Xera.` he said. `I have decided to trust them.`

"Then let's get moving. I'll leave you to get your people Commander, while I get we get prepared to beam over." Xera said to Kestiana. if her husband would trust them than so shall she.

Kestiana gave a nod and moved to enter the quarters holding her people. They still had to get prepared for the added crew compliment that would be joining them for the trip back to Versailles.

She turned to look at her crew whom half were pacing restlessly like trapped or caged animals. "Alright come on look alive, we've got work to do. Lieutenant Raygard, prepare sickbay to receive whatever crew compliment has yet to be treated for the lack of oxygen. Acel'a, Sara I need you to prepare quarters, find some volunteers if you need to. Alright let's get back to the ship." She said tapping her combadge and ordered Alyssa and any other engineering staff she has to return with the fairwinds crew.
" Aye Sir." the doctor stood up with a relieved grin. His hand going to his left chest and was reminded that his comm-badge had been taken from him when he was locked with the others. He'd have to wait to contact his staff on the Archer until they beamed back. Sickbay needed to be warned to have Tri-Ox compound ready and waiting for the arrival of the Cree of the freighter..
"Understood. Once we get back, I'll have a better idea of what we'll need to do, Commander," said Acel'a, as she pulled herself together. "Commander Lenara, Let's get cracking. We have a lot of work to do."

Sara looked over,"on my way" she said as she went by the others to help out.

Acel'a nodded, then headed out, following the rest of the team and the XO.

"I will let you and your crew prepare Commander, my own crew and I will make our own arrangements. We should be ready within the hour." Bodak said.

"Aye Captain, I'm leaving my engineers to beam over with you they can help in anyway you need them." Kestiana said before she gave the order to beam the archer team back over to the archer...

Adm Jason Roberts <co@...> wrote to trek-ic@...:

Blyx DiAgessi had always been a stoic pillar of pride and
strength...Stoic, that is, until she's poked or prodded a tad too
sharply and the fangs and claws come out for their taste of bloodshed.
She was known for her biting tongue and dancer's grace -- a reed before
the tempest-- was long ago how she'd been described by her academy
professors. But today she was soft and uniquely feminine, glowing in
the dawn of pregnancy as she sat perched on the edge of Liconie's desk.

"You're not very good at speeches that don't involve recanting
bloodshed," She hummed in earnest amusement as she peered down at him.
"And while bloodshed is a part of the past... Try not to go too far this
time?" The sound of a tease lilted along in her voice as she tilted her
head to better gauge the MACO's reaction.

"I'm better then you think," the General replied with a smirk, "and I'll
try not to knock idiotic officers on their asses," he said and heald up
two fingers in the boy scout salute before collecting the PADD with his
notes on it, "I just don't look forward to General Conways announcement
of the change we have in store, it may leave a few upset," he added then
moved around his desk, dressed in the new MACO dress uniform, "how are
things coming along?" he asked, smiling and nodded to her belly.

She shook her head and rolled her eyes as the General displayed his best
boy scout salute. "We'll see, won't we?" She replied before pursing her
lips and offering him the slightest of nods. "Change is inevitable...
They know it. It's how they choose to deal with it that will make or
break them."

Blyx's weight shifted ever so slightly to let her recross her legs and
settle herself in a slightly more comfortable position. His smile was
infectious, and with one of her own she lay a hand across her barely
existent belly. Only those closest to her knew for sure, though she was
certain many had taken a guess. "Slowly but surely. He's praying for a
boy." She chuckled.

John nodded and chuckled himself, "I bet, sons don't make dads worry in
quite the same way as daughters do," he replied with a grin then pulled
out a small box the size of his hand, "I have a baby shower gift for
you, Admiral," he said nonchalantly.

"No I suppose they don't. DiAgessi daughters tend to be even more of a
handful." Blyx's sweet southern drawl emphasized the word more. Aine
never had taken the path of least resistance, always choosing to run at
breakneck speed down the rockiest of roads from the onset. But Blyx
would never of accepted it any other way, her daughter had proven them
proud on many occasions. Blessed are the souls of the stubborn, or
something like that.

"Ad..." She paused, furrowed her brow, and looked from the box in his
hand to his face. The confusion only dwindled for a moment longer before
she slid from his desk. "Well my lord, John, I think I'd best keep those
safe. It'll be a long time before they're ready for such an honor." Blyx
winked and smiled, standing at attention as was customary.

He smiled wide and stood, "Commodore, things had been rough for me
getting started here but you stepped up and kept me from doing anything
stupid and listened to my blustering late into the night. Due to that
and your previous service record I hereby promote you to the rank of
Rear Admiral with all the privileges there of, including giving your
significant other orders," he added with a wink then pinned the new pips on.

"I'll be here for as long as you'll have me, you know that." Her smile
mimicked his as the pips were finally clipped into place. If she was a
lesser woman, maybe she'd have gotten misty... But even with her
condition pressing her emotions into over drive, Blyx kept herself at
bay beyond hugging her boss and friend.

Razor returned the hug, "I appreciate that," he replied then smiled,
"well, Admiral, ready to go listen to boring speeches then watch the
MACOs...perform," he asked with a playful smile.

Taking a deep breath the spirited little Admiral nodded and straightened
out her tunic. "Ready as I'll ever be." She grinned and grabbed the PADD
she'd left behind on his desk filled with bullet notes and Gods only
knew what else. "You're practically radioactive over this, you know
that, right?" Blyx jabbed at him gently with her elbow as she moved
towards the door. The pride seemed to ooze off the MACO.

He shrugged as they moved down the corridor, "there's a lot to be proud
of," he said simply then called for the first floor, "I don't hold a
candle to how Antonios been strutting around though, he's even got the
Cadets scared, they think it's a test," he added with a laugh.

The dark haired woman cast a sidelong glance over her shoulder at the
General and shook her head... Yet again. "Remind me to impose a no
strutting rule." She mused, though her eyes defied her with an amused
twinkle. "Then again," Blyx's full mouth quirked ever so slightly into
an almost sadistic grin, "It is fun to watch the cadets scramble...Isn't
it?"

"Very," John replied with a smile, "scramblings good for them," he added
as they exited the building, voices of the crowd at a low roar and
echoing around the quad. Kids ran screaming throwing confetti at each
other, zig zagging in and out of the crowd, his own son following a
group towards a water gun booth, "he's going to be the death of me," he
muttered as Jonthon ran head long into the Vulcan Ambassador and blew
confetti all over the man.

"Gives us power." The Admiral nodded politely to several people as they
passed. Public events hadn't ever much suited the Shrike, she'd always
prefered the comforts and quiet of her own home over the chaos of large
social gatherings and celebrations. She'd come to terms with her service
induced paranoia and the touch of post traumatic stress disorder it had
cursed her with. Still, by the grace of the Gods, the woman managed to
keep her head high, her eyes bright, and her smile unwaivering. "Isn't
parenthood absolutely divine?" Blyx grinned brightly, her edge being
taken off by the display of the rambunctious
boy. "I can promise you that if he doesn't, the Ambassador likely will."

Liconie laughed, "probably, that Ambassador presided over my
courtmarshal when I was pulled from the Thunderchild," he replied then
shook his head as the eight year old appologized and ran off, "PR is the
most evil acronym I've ever learned," he added as he looked out over the
crowed.

A gentle huff was the Shrike's only response to the acknowledgement of
the General's court martial. It didn't need any more of that, or any
less. Her opinions were hers alone in that regard. "It's about to turn
absolutely unholy."

Blyx's fingers grazed Razor's arm as a sign of reassurance as she
stepped past him to climb the stairs onto the grand stand that had been
set up. Her eyes skimmed the crowd until she found Antonio's well tanned
face somewhere towards the front, and with a pretty smile and a nod in
his direction, she took her place in front of the microphone. "Happy
Federation Day everybody, thank you for coming out to show your support
for the men and women that have served and defended the Federation over
the years." She paused for a moment to allow the cheers and whistles to
die down, "It's with great pleasure that I
introduce Fleet General John Linconie to the stage, without him at the
helm of this project, it's highly likely we wouldn't be here this year."
She winked and stepped aside, motioning for the man to come to the
stage.

John gave a nod and took a breath before stepping up to the podium,
"ladies and gentlemen, as the Admiral has said, HAPPY FEDERATION DAY!"
he called out loudly, excitement in his voice. He waited for the crowed
to settle then smiled and looked over the crowed, "today is a day that
marked a new age for our corner of the universe, the day a group of like
minded individuals put aside their differences and past conflicts with
each other and formed an organization who's goal has been peaceful
exploration of our universe and protection of its citizens. That
organization is called the Federation," he started then again paused and
waited for the crowed, "we are here today to celebrate that
organization, which has held together and kept itself alive despite the
curve balls the galaxy throws.

In recent years we have seen wars and large losses of life despite our
want for peace, the time for war has passed, but do not forget those who
gave their lives in our defense as changes occur within the Federation.
Starfleet has decided to step down it's militarization of it's ships and
forces, going back to it's roots in 2161. Our ships will be continued
to be crewed by the finest officers, however, we will be going back to
those ships and crews being Starfleet Naval. Those ships primary focus
will once again be exploration. With that our Marines will take on the
monicker of MACO, or Military Assault Command Operations, and will be
taking over the aerospace units and combining them with their infantry
and armor unit and focus on the defense and support of our citizens
while toning down the war machine and moving their ships, Special Forces
and Intelligence back to Starfleet Naval.

We have spent to long licking our hurtful wounds and staying over
prepared for war after being hit so close to our heart at Utopia
Planetia. Now is the time not to relax and forget that we are not
invulnerable, but to remember that we were founded by peace and we
*must* strive not to let the events of the past affect that ideal that
was what brought the Federation together today in 2161. Never forget
the darkness of our past, but, never stop looking at our future and what
the Federation founders did and had in mind for us!"

The end of the speech was met by cheers and Liconie could see the FNN
reporters talking into hovering holocams that were transmitting to every
ship, colony and starbase in the Federation and Starfleet. Liconie took
a breath and looked over the crowed, "we have several events planned for
today here at Starfleet Command and on Earth and I've heard of events
planned all over the four quadrants. Ladies and Gentlemen, have fun and
enjoy today," he called then turned and headed away from the stage,
letting out a steadying breath.

A Mission Post by Lieutenant Jason Raygard M.D. & Commander Kestiana Sahal
Mission: Mirror Mirror on the wall...
Location: ISS Archer-D
Timeline: 241108.12

Since making that deal with Tasha McIntosh a few months ago Jason Raygard had come to regret it.

He'd made a mistake, yes he was now CMO of the Archer and in charge of the Medical Department but he'd come to realize that Tasha was even worse then the Troi women when it came to social climbing and being power hungry, if that was even possible.

The fact was on a number of occasions McIntosh had intervened or out right over-rode Raygards orders when it came to dealing with patients and on a number times she'd even told the Nursing staff not to bother him even when the patient had asked to be treated by him, telling them that the CMO was unavailable. More or less she was still acting like she was in command of the department. For that reason alone she simply had to go. It was a direct challenge to his authority as Chief Medical Officer.

Jason had been plotting Tasha's demise for some time and he knew that he had the support of Commander Sahal. Chief of Security in the matter. He'd gone to see her a few days after he'd released her from his care and back to light active duty to discuss that fact that he had a problem with an person in his department. Sahal had told him that as CMO it was up to him to take care of anyone that was not preforming up to the standards that he set in Sickbay.

She did however ask Jason see her before he did anything in her office, and so he now stood outside of her office door. Taking a moment to look down at his uniform to make sure he was in good condition and that his comm-badge and medal ribbons, along with his rank pips where all in place he pressed the door chime.

Kestiana being betazoid allowed her to know exactly who was on the other side of her door. However, Betazoids were frowned upon in the empire, so she tend to keep it from being evident. Only the CMO knew she was Betazoid, well at least the only one that she knew of. "Come." She called without looking up.

Stepping into Kestiana's office he pulled himself to attention and gave her a formal salute, thumping his chest with his right fist and then extending the arm outward. Even thought the two of them had become closer due to her stay in Sickbay and spending off duty time together the fact was Sahal was still his superior officer and as such she commanded a level of respect and decorum while on duty.

Kestiana almost smiled. Almost. "Have a seat Lieutenant." Kestiana said, not yet giving him her undivided attention. She finished what she was doing used her thumbprint to confirm an order, and then gave Jason her undivided attention. "What can I do for you?" She asked.

"Sir." he nodded and took the offered chair in front of her desk. He swung it around and straddled it, crossing his arms over the back leaning forward. "I came here this afternoon to seek your formal permission to remove Lt. Tasha McIntosh from my department and from the ship." Jason was very careful not to say that he was going to murder the other woman. To do so would make him guilty of the crime and also make Sahal guilty of being an accessory to murder. both of which under Terran law where punishable by death.

Kestiana arched one elegant brow that the half betazoid CMO. "As CMO of your department you know that you have the right to 'remove' any officer under your command from your department and even have her 'removed' from the ship itself." Kestiana said just as carefully as Jason had.

Kestiana had been the one to warn him to be careful of Tasha to begin with. After all she had seen what that woman planned. for Jason after they consummated the bargain...

With an evil grin, Jason nodded. "Thank you Sir." and stood up once more.

~*~ Sickbay ~*~

Tasha knew that the CMO wasn't in so that left her in charge not that she was ever not in charge. he may be CMO now, but she had control in sickbay. She smiled a cold smirk. the department was afraid of her. That was the way she liked it. She had never sent one of her officers to the Chief of Security for the simple reason she wanted them afraid of her so she punished them herself. by using the very tools she had right here in sickbay.

At the very moment she was doing just that to Amanda Baker whom had been flirting with Jason behind her back. Amanda was struggling on the isolation bed with a painful concoction that Tasha had come up with as a way to send pain to the brain as her way of keeping them in line. Jason was hers. As was his kingdom once she conceived an heir to his throne. then she could have someone dispose of him, and his uncle and any heir his aunt could conceive; so she could claim that power for herself. And if his mother got in her way she would just have to show the woman where she stood.

When Raygard entered Sickbay he was surprised to see that Baker was not at her post. While he didn't nessassarily like Amanda she did do her job well as Head Nurse and had gained Jason's respect. As he allowed his eyes to scan the Main Ward of Sickbay looking for the Nurse it was then that the first wave of pain washed up inside of his head and then he heard a muffled scream coming from Surgical Room One.

"What the hell is going on?" he said to himself as he moved towards the other room. When he got to the door it didn't open when he pressed the release with his thumb. Frowning it tried to disengage the lock tapping the control panel, still the door did not open, reaching down to his boot he pulled his standard issue knife from its sheath before speaking. "Computer, release lock on Surgical Room One, Medical authorization Raygard Alpha, Alpha, two-four-seven-Delta." a second later the door opened allowing the CMO to step inside.

What he saw inside made his hand clench harder around the handle of the double bladed knife all the tighter.

McIntosh had her back to the door for the moment as she watched the person on the Bio-bed struggling and moaning. While Raygard couldn't see the other woman's face on the bed he could see the long shoulder length hair and he knew immediately it was Baker.

With a snarl the Raygard allowed the door to slide closed.

"Just what do you think your doing?" he said in a low threatening tone to McIntosh, his eyes narrowing as she spun at the sound of his voice to face him. "Whatever it is that you have done to Baker I want you to reverse it now."

Tasha hadn't expected him back so soon, but it didn't matter, she was following proper protocols. "With you out of sickbay that leaves me in charge. I can discipline the staff anyway I see fit, and that's exactly what I'm doing Amanda Baker had mixed up certain files, nearly killing a patient in the process." Tasha snarled in return.

"That was a direct order Lieutenant." He said when Tasha made no move to help the still withering Baker. "I have had just about enough of you." Raygard said bringing up his knife and dropping into a crouch keeping his back to the wall and his eyes on Tasha. "You can consider yourself relieved of Medical duty on the Archer, and confined to your personal quarters until farther notice." That would satisfy the formal record, however Jason knew full well that he'd have to kill the other doctor to get rid of her.

"You have no right to do that we have a deal or did you forget that Dr Raygard." She growled glaring at him. However she sensed her life was in danger. "Sickbay to Security I need a little help in here." Tasha growled.

Kestiana's head came up and she reached out to Jason with her mind curiously. She smirked and caused static to come over the line. "I'm S *static* can you *static* repeat I cant *static*" Came over the comm for both to hear.

Jason was expecting Tasha to call Security just not so fast. She was truly afraid of him, that brought a menacing grin to his face. he continued to hold the knife up but then began to talk in a low tone.

"One thing that is not common knowledge outside of the Royal family is the fact that we have all been trained in a certain ability to protect ourselves." Jason stated as he allowed his mental shields to fall completely so he could zero in on Tasha and then he grabbed hold of her mind. His eyes narrowing with the effort. The woman was strong he'd grant her that but that didn't matter in the long run. He began to mentally squeeze Tasha's brain. He watched her face contort from shock and then extreme pain as she brought her hands up to the sides of her head in a futile attempt to make Raygard stop her knee's buckling.

Tasha glared up at him feeling the pain inside of her. She gripped the side of her head trying to push him out of her head, he was just too strong for her. Problem was she couldn't force him from her mind and it was getting worse...

Jason took a few more steps so that he was standing in front of McIntosh, he then got down on one knee so he could look in to her eyes. In a low tone he spoke. "Consider our agreement null and void." He stood up again so that he could move around so he was standing behind Tasha. He could feel that her nervous system was starting to overload, and death was only minutes away. He wanted the last thing she'd hear in her mind to be his voice. ~How do you think my family has managed to hold on to power for over seven hundred years? It's because we simply get rid of those that try to take it from us.~ With those final words Jason's eyes widened with the effort and few seconds later McIntosh's body crumpled in a heap lifeless, her eyes wide open and face controted in a silent scream of horror.

Breathing heavily he turned to look at Baker who was still squirming on the table. With effort he picked up a nearby tri-corder and ran a scan of the Nurse and with in moments he knew what to do to reverse the damage that McIntosh and inflicted on Amanda. He picked up a hypo-spray that was on the tray next tot he bed and shot its contents in to the woman's neck. With in moments she started to relax and breath normally. Jason tapped the controls of the bio-bed and released the force field that was holding her down.

Looking down at the now dead woman at his feet he nudged her prone body with the toe of his boot then looked at Baker.

"Amanda once you have taken a few moments to regain yourself. Can you please dispose of this mess."

"Yes sir." Amanda said grateful that he had stopped the pain her loyalties switching for that simple act as she moved to personally dispose of body herself. When she returned she looked as if she could use a rest, "I've taken the liberty of sending in Tasha's resignation and an arrange marriage that has forced her to leave the ship and her post in the Empire all together." Amanda informed him.

The doctor nodded as he leaned against the bio-bed. One of the side-effects of using his telepathic powers to kill was that it left him weak and exhausted. What he needed most was a few hours of sleep. However now that he was effectively the Archer's only doctor he knew that was not possible. Instead he pulled himself up on to the bio-bed and sat with a groan.

"Baker do me a favor and get me a 10cc hypo of Tricordrazine." Jason was not one to use stimulants but in this case he knew that he'd never make it to the end of his duty shift with out help. He watched as Amanda filled one of the hypo's on the tray of equipment with the requested drug when she moved back where he was sitting he tilted his head to the side to bare his neck.

Amanda didn't hesitate, she could see the weariness on his face and he had stopped her pain. She made her way to his side and with a slight smile of thank you she pressed it to his neck giving him the dose he'd asked for.

Taking a few breaths he felt his strength returning and he favored the nurse with a smile. "I think we both had a rough day. As of now your off-duty. Go and rest and relax." when Amanda started to protest Jason held up a hand. "Doctors orders Ensign."

"Yes Doctor." Amanda said resigned to the fact that she was now off duty. "Be careful Doctor." She said before leaving he had her loyalty and that actually brought most of the nursing staff with her...

A Mission Post by Captain Korath & Cadet Senior Grade Abbadon Durga & Commander Kestiana Sahal & Ensign Julian Stanley & Lieutenant JG Anne Cooper
Mission: Double Jeopardy
Location: Bridge
Timeline: current

Captain Korath sat in the command throne and reviewed the PADD outlining the results of the Crew transfer from the Fair Winds. For the most part, the transfer had gone well. The preparation to destroy the Fair Winds safely were now complete and engineering had assured him that all was ready. Korath watched the newest helm officer getting acquainted with the con.

"Mr. Durga, I see you found the helm. Is everything to your liking" The klingon asked. "We are not exactly the cream of the StarFleet Crop here, but we try to keep up with the curve."

"The Archer isn't a fighter sir," Abbadon smirked slightly as he worked the interface he had configured, "but I'm fairly sure I can pull a cee-eighty if I have to."

"Commander, How have our guests been fair since they came aboard" korath asked.

Kestiana made her way to her seat next to Korath, "Settled as best as we can get them. Captain Bodak and his family are settling in nicely in to the guest family quarters."

"Lieutenant Cooper, are all departments ready for the planned detonation."

"Everyone's reporting green, sir." Anne replied without looking up, still looking over her console as she spoke.

"Good." Korath nodded. as he stood and walked toward the view screen a few steps and tapping his com badge. "Bridge to Engineering."

"Engineering, go ahead sir," Julian said, tapping his badge as he continued to monitor the explosives rigged on the Fair Winds.

"Mr. Stanley, how close are we to putting our plan into action?" Korath asked. He would have preferred to not have to resort to such extreme measures, but the time sensitivity of the mission at hand demanded they leave for Versailles as soon as possible.

"Mr. Durga, I would like to set course back to Versailles best possible speed as soon as we are safely away from the explosion."

"Course plotted and ready on your command sir," Abbadon replied, having already programmed several possible destination based on the current command-level mission parameters. He had tapped the one he wanted as soon as Korath had confirmed and the course he had built earlier had been automatically loaded. The course wasn't exactly Starfleet standard but then, it was faster.

Korath nodded. "Very Good Mr. Durga." Then he returned his attention to the view screen. "Mr Stanley, Have your team return to the Archer. Lets get this show on the road as you Humans put it."

=/= Fifteen minutes Later =/=

With the Crew of both ships safely off the Fair winds and the charges set, Korath allowed Captain Bodak one final look at the ship he called home for so many years. As soon as the Gallamite nodded, Korath nodded to Ms. Cooper. "Go ahead and detonate the sequence as soon as Mr. Stanley has confirmed final arming of the charges."

Anne pursed her lips. She'd have to push the button, so to speak. She knew it was necessary. No one was on the Fair Wind. But it was a home. It had memories and she'd be destroying it. It was part of the job. But really, she was following orders. She watched Korath a moment wondering how it weighed on him. She might be more sentimental than him for one thing. He was also likely hardened to such things being in service as long a he had. Not to mention he was a Klingon, and destruction and death were even celebrated as part of life.

She looked at Bodak to see if he showed any emotion, even under the stiff upper-lip of dignity. While she watched these men and pondered their emotions, she kept a peripheral focus on Stanley. Waiting for that confirmation, for when the winds would long longer be fair for the Fair Winds. Though, it hadn't had an easy time of things for them awhile now.

Kestiana sat where she was just listening to the action going on around her as well as watching the bridge crew do their jobs.

The nod was given. moments later the view screen lit up with dozens of explosions that rippled through the Fair Winds hull. Captain Bodak didn't say a word, he simply turned to leave the bridge.

Korath afforded the Captain a quick look before he stood. and walked up to stand next to the con. "I believe that we have an appointment elsewhere. Engage Mr. Durga"

Artimus Zion's Personal Log - | Joint Personal Back Log part 1 | XO/Civ Cmdr Sahal / Artimus Zion

The following is a personal log from Artimus Zion.

=/= holodeck 1 - USS Archer =/=

Arty had spent the last few weeks getting the program correct tonight Kes would be the player of this game and he would be her number one, it was a simple story simple point to point run past a nebula.

That was the fun part it the ships were attacked from within the nebula it was a fun game that Arty had played the ships themselves were thought up from a novel by a Japanese author, the translation came over as battleship in space in English and that's what they looked like.

Arty was standing on the bridge of the command ship of the convey the Battleship Horizon in his white trousers and white shirt with gold bars and buttons on, the hat was still taking some getting used to he smiled as he waited for Kes he had left her uniform at her quarters for her.

Kestiana was actually very relaxed right now. The young executive officer couldn't believe that she had seen London, Paris and Moscow all in one day. There was no way she could adequately thank Jon for the sight seeing.. She was in the uniform that was left for her and looking forward to the story that Arty said was a surprise. Making her way to the holodeck she paused to straighten the white uniform knowing that it was of a sea captain or something but wasn't positive...

Arty tried again to adjust his trousers they felt a little tight to him he smiled as the doors opened and shut he turned and said "welcome aboard Kes are you ready to play" he went a little red tipping his hat.

Kestiana blinked and eyed him. He wore a similar uniform to hers but his had pants while her's had a short skirt to allow her to move. His pants were definitely a little tight and had her wondering if he'd done that on purpose or not. He looked good in them though. "Yeah I'm learning to be ready to play." She said with a soft smile.

He nodded and said "captain on the bridge" as he did the holo game starting to run all the departments on the bridge gave their reports right to Kes, the convoy waited for their orders the screen showed different options for Kes to choose one Arty moved close and said "you have to please excuse my pants the computer made them a little tight"

Kestiana raised an elegant brow at her friend, "Your pants are unexcused since they are required for this game. Are they not?" She asked him in a curious tone as she accepted report after report feeling slightly overwhelmed by what was going on here. The young woman was unsure which options she was to chose and looked to Arty, whom she was assuming was her second officer, for advice.

Arty said "no no no no I did not mean that I meant you must pardon the tightness not of my doing" Arty took a minute to compose himself he thought I wonder what she thinks of me, he had wanted to kiss Kes for the past 2 weeks he had even gotten her a gift of a heart locket with her birth stone in the centre. Arty then said "we have 3 courses we can follow Ma'am 1 close to the nebula, 2 one with the asteroid field to the right of us and the third is a half moon course left bend."

Kestiana smiled at her friend she was starting to make more friends and was glad that Arty and Jon were among those numbers. "Hmmm I think we'll go with course 1 helm set a course for the nebula." Kestiana said to the man at the helm station, she had only been teasing Arty he would learn this soon enough

Arty watched and after a few minutes he said "all ships and convoy reporting in green across the board nothing on sensors yet" he tapped on the screen and turned a few knobs before saying "permission to launch a scout vessel to check out the asteroid field that an hour ahead in front of us Captain?" Arty thought about when to give the gift his mind wondered for the briefest of moments then was back.

"Permission granted, let's see what's out there shall we?" She asked with a smile.

Arty nodded and got on the radio saying "scout one you have a go remember your flight plan burn main tank getting to target, one pass full scan launch the probe back at us and use the reserve boost tank to get to the programmed co-ordinates for pick up." A voice came over the radio saying "scout one understood" and with that it left the ship Arty looked at Kes and said "we should meet up with the probe in 40 minutes giving us 20 minutes to plan action if we need to."

Kestiana smiled, "Sounds good, why am I captain again?" She asked still smiling to show she was only joking. Things were going smoothly at the moment...

Arty was about to say something when the battleship's bridge went dim and a 30 minute timer came on all the monitors except for Kes's, as the crew left the bridge Arty said "in battle situations it's all you the computer does nothing but targeting." Arty took his hat off and placed it on the station in front of him and said "I love this time the break between crew shifts we've got the bridge for the next 30 minutes just the two of us." Arty pointed out of the window to the other battleships as Kes was looking he placed the black box with the locket with her birthstone on in front of her he took a deep breath and waited.

Kestiana looked out the viewer until she heard something hit the table top near her. She turned and looked her brow furrowing in confusion and surprise "Arty?" She asked looking to him even as she reached for the box not sure what it is or why really. She blinked when she opened it. "Oh Arty, it's beautiful you didn't have to." She said looking him in the eyes quite startled...

Arty smiled and said "I'm glad you like it" he took a breath turning his seat towards Kes then continued "I'm not sure if you know but I really do like you Kes a lot I would love to date you and be your boyfriend, for the past few weeks I have wanted to kiss you every time I saw you and also to give you this gift I felt now was a good time for the gift. I know you have been hurt and I can wait, you may not feel the same about me which is why I have not kissed you as of yet." Arty went quite it was in the open now he hoped she felt the same.

Kestiana was actually at a loss for words. She had no idea what to say.. She did like Arty, but she wasn't so sure she was ready to date. Or rather ready to have a boyfriend. After all she and Jon had gone to a few dinners together and she wasn't sure where she stood with him either, as far as she knew they were just really good friends. Other than that she wasn't sure. Arty, I'm flattered really and if you want to have dinner that's fine to, but I'm not so sure if I'm ready to have a boyfriend." Kestiana said honestly.

Arty nodded and smiled saying "thank you for being honest and I totally understand not to worry" arty picked up his hat and glanced over at the monitors and replied "we should be meeting the probe soon."

Kes sat there for a moment to take a breath. "Prepare to beam it aboard and have it analyzed I expect a report within the next several hours." She said looking to Arty grateful that he understood she just wasn't ready yet... Not that she was aware of...

Arty smiled and nodded saying "the probe is transferring video footage now you should have the full thing in 12 minutes, then we can see what's up ahead if anything."

"Once ready send it to the main viewer so we can see this footage." Kes said moving to sit in the center chair.

Artimus Zion's Personal Log - | Joint Personal Back Log part 2 | XO/Civ Cmdr Sahal / Artimus Zion

The following is a personal log from Artimus Zion.

Arty nodded and replied "transferring video footage and the results of all the scan to the main viewer now captain." arty watched as the footage ran of the ship flying by the Nebula, and glanced over all the scans they all looked fine but the magnetic field one worried him a little.

Kestiana frowned. "Run that again, slow it down please."

Arty nodded and replied "yes captain slowing it down 3 times, also ill display the matching scans to the video images.." Arty tapped on the station and replayed the footage at a lower speed with matching scans.

Kes took a step forward, "Computer freeze image." She said catching where the magnetic field caused the hull of the ship to do a wave movement like water would. "Do you see that?" She asked pointing it out.

Arty took a look and then said "that is very strange indeed looks like something is using a damping field to hide but are scan was a little to close to dampen all of the wave, you know if we feed the wave data into the computer it could give us a rough size of the ship the wave hit." Arty tapped in the data and waited for the go ahead from the captain

"Do it." Kestiana said curious as to what would be causing that.

Arty hit the button and watched as the computers worked the information, after a few moments it displayed the image of what looked like a large ship it was a bit hard to tell what it was the computer estimated it was half our size. The worry was the small pings it looked like fighters."

"Computer can you give a rough estimate of how many ships that is?" Kestiana asked wondering if the computer could give her that information...

The computer beeped and flashed printing on the screen in front of her that it was about half the size of our battle ship, with some minor pings. Arty looked and said "those small pings could be fighters I think I might have a plan"

"Yeah but I was hoping to find out just how many fighters it might be, an estimated guess. I'm not sure I word my question correctly, however." Kestiana said with a smile.

Arty replied "well if there is only one large ship then there could be as many as 500 fighters, we could fire a probe in they would let it ping since the info could not get out, but we could have it on a theater to a scout ship which pulls it out and sends the data. It would only need a few seconds to send." it was risky but it could work

Kestiana gave a nod. "Do so, we need as much info as we can get."

Arty ordered the fighter out and watched as the probe was launched and went to its target, he knew it would be about 15 minutes before they knew if it worked or not. He took a deep breath as just then the new bridge crew came out of the lifts he hastily picked up his cap and placed it on his head again he looked at Kes and said "probe away 15 minutes till we get any thing Ma'am"

"On screen when you get the readings." Kestiana said moving to sit in her seat.

Arty tapped on the console and brought up the info as it came in buffering as it went he turned and said "from the look of that its one carrier ship and 260 fighters standard attack class, may I give you a idea captain that we side blind them. We come in side on with our guns faced to the nebula and blow the gas out of it.."

"do we even know if their our target? or just another ship?" Kestiana asked not wishing to attack an unknown ship.

Arty thought for a moment and said "its a good bet where the only convoy coming through here for the past 6 months, also the convoy ships hold food, water, people and financial aid. If this was any other place or time I would say we wait and see, but I think we should" Arty paused for a moment

And continued "we should take the path so our battle ships are side on the nebula if they attack we fire and launch our fighters, the convoy can take the middle path but its your call captain"

Kestiana grit her teeth, but it seemed this was their target after all. "Do so then." Kes said not looking away from the images on the screen...

Arty nodded and passed on the orders to the other battleships once they got to the turn point all guns were to turn 90 degrees towards the nebula and fighters standing by, Arty worried a lot about the force in the nebula he wiped his forehead and said looking at Kes "4 minutes till turn captain"

Kestiana gave a nod and stood from her seat to watch the view screen more clearly...

Arty watched as the ships turned slightly and the barrel of the guns slide to the right the bridge went dim arty moved to the right of the window by the door and looked out, he rubbed his forehead adjusting his hat he gripped the handle of the door a little scared he saw the nebula come into sight."

Kestiana stood her ground, she wasn't afraid, this was where she normally was, though along side Korath since he was normally captain.

Arty looked as the nebula slid into sight of them on the right side of the ships he watched as he saw small fighters coming out of the cloud of the nebula there was a moment it looked like a lfixer of blue flashed through the nebula, Arty Called out "fighters 3 o'clock." he waited for the Captains firing orders

"Evasive action, Shields up, Return fire." She said calmly.

Arty nodded and watched as the computer did as it was told the shields were raised and the ship tilted a bit before all of the deck guns went off together, the noise could be heard and felt the fighters turned and try to aviod the fire as our own fighters launched.

Kestiana put one hand on the guardrail in front of her to keep her feet under her as the ship rocked from the hit of the weapons fire.

Arty grabbed the table and said "comms ready ma'am if you want to communicate with the attackers" he just saw another flash of blue glimmer.

Kestiana gave a nod. "This is Captain Kestiana Sahal of the Battleship Nova This is an unprovoked attack stand down now, or you will force my hand." Kestiana said. ok so that was a very new experience for her. Captain was something she never thought she'd call herself. and she wasn't even sure what she said was the right thing to say.

there was nothing silence then two massive blue beams one after another one hitting below and on the bridge of the Sudo, and the other hit us right front side. Arty moved to the damage station and called out "we have a hull breach right front side section 11a to 13d decks 11 to 14 bulk heads are sealing the areas off, the Sudo has taken damage to the bridge and tower."

"Return fire, Disable do not destroy, take evasive action. Get me casualty reports." Kestiana ordered she wanted to take them in not destroy them. unless forced to do otherwise...

Arty nodded and replied "aye ma'am passing on the orders" he glanced at the screen and said "Sudo casualties entire bridge crew, our casualties 15 so far no ships reporting so far what is firing that blue beam. Our fighters are demolishing there fighters 3 to 1 at the present time."

Kestiana gripped the guard rail that was used to protect the command team though they normally got thrown over it instead. there were dead officers because she hesitated in attacking and tried to order them to stand down. "Find out what that blue beam is and disable it!" Kestiana ordered not about to hesitate again and cause more casualties...

Artimus Zion's Personal Log -

The following is a personal log from Artimus Zion.

Arty nodded and replied "yes ma'am" he tapped on the station and ordered 4 fighters to enter the nebula and find the source of the beam he tapped and put their real time vid link on the screen, they watched as they saw the fighters going through clouds the fighters did a good job to keep moving. Then the cloud thinned out and the massive shape of the cannon came into view. "that cannot be" Arty said tapping on the station for the fighters to return and scanning there database for something.

Kestiana turned towards him, "What?"

Arty said "its a drakon cannon there should be none left, we have no shells onboard that will damage it, our photon cannons would do enough damage if we could hit the target enough.I'm searching the other ships to see if they have any shells."

"A drakon cannon?" Kestiana asked never having heard anything like it...

Arty nodded "left over from the great war the Mina race on losing the battle agreed to destroy all the cannons, god knows how they got hold of it and I'm surprised it still works its 75 years old. Its most deadly it fires a plasma beam that is ionized ill have the computer run to see if we can defeat it." Arty tapped on the computer and watched as it did its thing showing data.

"Damn." Kestiana muttered. "Do it fast we have to disable that thing before it does further damage."

Arty nodded and glanced at the terminal the computer was already most of the way through its list but it did not it beeped and Arty read what he saw to Kes "two plans of action the computer has listed a full firing from every battle ship into the nebula where it is located, the other is having the damaged Sudo ram it."

"then get everyone ready to fire, I'm not about to have Sudo ram it unless it's a last resort or he jumps the gun." Kestiana said not at all liking that choice.

Arty nodded and replied "sending orders to the rest" as a few minutes post they all fired at the area that had been firing the blue beam from all the ships, after going quite they all waited Arty started to say "I think..." then there was a flicker and 2 blue beams came out of the nebula. One hit the Sudo and one hit us right by the engine our bridge went dark as the backup generators came on.

"Report!" Kestiana said in a calm voice not sure what was going on and forgetting this was all just a simulation. though she knew one thing. she would not have changed her decision had she been able to...

Arty replied "hit to our engine deck main power will be back on in 10, first reports coming in that our fire did very little to the cannon."

What exactly happened, and what are our options now?" She asked him...

Arty looked and replied "we dented it at best only option would be to set the Sudo on automatic right at the cannon all of the Sudo's crew have been moved it would give us the time we need to make a run for the border"

Kestiana frowned; she didn't like the idea of sacrificing the ship. "Do it then and get us the hell out of here. " Kestiana said...

Arty did not like the idea either but the Sudo was damaged and beyond repair Arty tapped on the station and remotely programmed the Sudo from their location Arty turned to Kes and said "all ships have the orders captain once our main power comes back online and you give the order the Sudo will fire all engines and fire into the nebula, at that moment the we will all make a run for the border." Just then main power flickered into life.

Kestiana turned to the view screen again. "Do so then." She said not liking it at all but with the Sudo damaged beyond repair as it was there was little use for it now...

Arty hit the button and standing there they both watched the Sudo fire her engines and head into the nebula as they fired there's and headed for the border, just as they passed the border defence platforms they saw a massive explosion in the nebula. And then nothing the program came to a end the computer then responded with [Captain Kes you have been given a grade of A for this simulation] Arty stood there and remembered his own score.

Arty smiled and said "well done nice score so what you think of the sim?"

A? She got an A? How was that possible? "It's a good learning experience. I'd like to do it again sometime." She said softly. "Is that a good grade?" She asked innocently.

Arty smiled and said "yep a real good one I myself scored a B- since I would not let the Sudo go and lost one of the convoy ships"

"Really well I guess this is how things should play out huh?" kes said with a small smile not liking the decision of letting it go if it had any hope of being repaired she wouldn't have done it...

Arty nodded and said "I guess we both did better than the proper outcome no ships survived the attack" he smiled softly and continued by saying "well your free to go Kes I have had a great time"

Kestiana smiled. "I'm glad that we beat the proper outcome. I'll see you later?" Kestiana said needing to get back to duty anyways.

Arty watched her leave the holodeck and he did the same heading back to his quarters he had some more work to do on the blue prints, he sighed as he walked back to his quarters he tapped the wall as he entered.

=/\= USS Livingston Enroute to SB Versailles =/\=

The observation room to the old Sovereign Class starship. Despite the recent refit of the starship, Nathan Jackson can smell the oldness to the starship. He leans back in the chair watching as the stars streak by, sipping on his glass of ice tea. The deep lines give away his age his face and the grow deeper in a slight smile realizing this very class of starship has served just as long in Starfleet as he has.

“Yes to old warhorses that refuse to accept their age.” he said in a horse whisper. He gets up and straightens out his suit, enjoying the last bit of his leave before he departs from his civilian clothes for the uniform. Nathan walks back to his visitor’s quarters, walking past many Starfleet crewmembers, they all appear to be so young and full of spirit. He can only chuckle and remember his youth as a young upstart marine officer, but now commonly called “the old man” by his juniors and senior officers.

He enters his quarters and gets ready for another fitful night of sleep, as the nightmare return to steal away his precious rest and to only leave his sheets socking wet from sweat by 1st watch.

=/\= SB Versailles=/\=

Brigadier General Nathan Jackson steps of the transporter pad, wearing his newly issued MACO uniform, the small groups of crew hands handle his meager personal baggage, highly unusual for a senior officer. But there is nothing ever normal about Nathan Jackson, even if he is old. The young MACO lieutenant escorts the general to the Beta Fleet CO office. The young officer oozes compliments and polite questions. Yet all the while his eyes glance towards his left arm, or the lack of from the elbow down. The left sleeve folded and pined so it does not flap around like some wet noodle.

The Lieutenant glances once more and looks away when he notices the general is watching him. “Don’t worry lad, if want one just like it I’ll make an appointment with the person that gave this to me.” The young officer faces starts to redden in embarrassment.  “I’m sorry sir, I do not mean to look-” he said apologetically. “Its okay happen all the time, especially when someone like me refused to have prosthetics to replace the original member.”

“Why would you refuse, especially now?” the youngster asked. “Well I rather keep my humanity, than to be some tamed version of a borg son.” Nathan replied.

The rest of the trip was fairly quiet and after taking a few turbo lifts and walking through the vast corridors, B-Gen Jackson arrives in the Beta Fleet Headquarters. General Jackson sits in one of the flush chairs; an aide comes up to him and asks if he wanted anything. But declined, maintaining his manners to the young officers. The recent promotion to Brigadier General had enter him in a whole new world for officers. The lateness of his promotion still leaves him heated; after all he made a lot of enemies in the Federation Council and within the Marine ranks. But recent drastic changes as the Marines are transition to MACO’s, had suddenly pushed a lot of those old nemeses out of the Marines in a forced retirement.

The new commandant and some politicos in Federation council are finally giving the old man a chance to prove himself.

The secretary finally calls Nathans attention, “Sir Admiral Lane is ready to see you.” General Jackson thanks him and enters the cavernous office of Beta Fleet CO.

“Sir Brigadier General Nathan Jackson reporting sir.” He said as he goes to attention and renders a hand salute, just as sharp when he was a graduate just over 40 years ago.

"Please take a seat General." Ed said he had read over the Generals career it was impressive and at the same time he had some enemies. "Anything to drink before we get going on things?" Ed asked.

“No thank you sir, I’m fine. Meaning no offense I just like to get myself settled in and start getting to work.” He replied. He lowers himself to a chair in front of the Fleet CO’s desk. The chairs plush leather groans as it wraps around his thin frame. Inwardly he is more thankful for the seat than for any refreshments, a simple resting of his aching joints is a far better gift than any refreshment.

Ed took a seat again, "alright first off welcome to Versailles and I hope the trip over was calm sailing. And second I would like to welcome you to Fleet command and all the crap that you get to deal with." Ed said with a smirk.

“It is strange I was stationed in the Yadalla system back during the Federation-Klingon War. That was before they built SB 99, at least this time I do not have a welcoming committee of Klingons on the war path. So this trip was calm indeed!” Nathan wrinkled face holding a hard expression, then leans forward.

“Best sides all that seriousness, dealing with crap has been and will always will be attached to any job sir.” Nathan replied jokingly.

"True...... so now to business. With it being Federation Day which'll turn into a week we'll doing some briefings but mainly enjoying the celebrations. After this week we'll get a staff meeting and get all the fleet positions sit-reps and see were we stand." Ed said with a smile, "I still haven't met with my deputy and I would like you to check-in with all the MACO CO's in 2nd Division and get a sit-rep for them."

Nathan nods, “That should not be a problem, I am curious in the tactical and simply the organization situation for the Division as well.”

“Once we get ourselves set up, I plan to review some reports on the local hot spots in the quadrant. This part of the Federation has always been busy from Orion smugglers and Vanguard agents to Romulan’s and Klingon’s testing us on the borders despite our long period of peace with them.”

"Excellent." Ed said, "I also want the MACOs to work with base and colony security so we can start building a bond with StarFleet and be more cohesive like StarFleet Command wants." Ed added knowing that it was going to be a lot of work but doable.

Silent to his own thoughts, absorbing the Starfleet officers comments. Sound concepts and well Nathan also agrees a cohesive relation ship between Starfleet and MACOs is critical. “Sir I am extremely glad to see to work on building such a relationship.” Nathan replied.

“I would even suggest in due time after the transition and consolidation we can see Versailles serving as an example for all other colonies in our quadrant.”

"Good, good. I think that covers everything expect for this week I want you and your men to relax and enjoy the festivities if something comes up we'll deal with it and I'll give you a call."

Nathan nods politely, “Well I look forward in working with you Admiral. I will perhaps visit Yadalla, I have some old friends that are still alive and well down below.” He replied.

Nathan stands up and offers a hand, “It is good to me you Admiral Lane and I’m sure we will get along just fine!”

Normally Nathan has rough run ins with Starfleet CO’s, but Ed Lane seem to be a solid officer, a rarity in his long career. The few that end up alright in his book.

Taking his hand Ed just smiled, "alright go and enjoy the festivities." He added standing up and leading the General out of the office.

A Mission Post by Commander Kestiana Sahal & Captain Korath & Lieutenant Commander Sara Lenera & Lieutenant Acel'a & Lieutenant Jason Raygard M.D.
Mission: Double Jeopardy
Location: Security and Sickbay
Timeline: after the fairwinds crew came aboard.

~*~ Main Security ~*~

Main security was buzzing, however, the guest crew quarters were filling up fast with the fair winds command team and department heads. being settled first. they were running out of room and they still needed to make sure the crew was comfortable as well. A Vulcan security officer made her way over to Lt. Acel'a to make her report on the limited guest quarters.

Acel'a saw the security officer enter and addressed her. "What do you have as far as a report?"

Ve'Nira held out her padd with the crew and the quarters already taken and remainder of the crew from fairwinds left to be placed.

"Very good," said Acel'a, nodding. "Lieutenant Commander Lenara, Get with Operations and work with them to find more quarters for the Fairwinds senior officers, then the crew, respectively," ordered Acel'a.

Sara accepted the orders, and was on her way, to find more quarters space for the crew.

"Lieutenant there might be a couple of junior crew mates in sickbay that might have enough room to share with a fair winds crew mate or two until we get to Versailles." Ens. Ve'Nira suggested logically.

"We also have extra quarters in the Marine decks, as they are no longer aboard the ship," suggested the Assistant Security Officer.

Acel'a, then exited the office, heading for Sickbay to see about the Fairwinds crew who were there being treated for oxygen deprivation.

~*~ Sickbay ~*~

Nurse Diana Ash was on her duty shift checking on a few of the fairwinds patients who hadn't yet been released from sickbay. They were resting well for now and doing better than she had thought...

Acel'a walked into Sickbay and spoke. "Doctor Raygard? How are the Fairwinds crewmembers, who were brought in doing?" she asked.

Jason looked up from the bio-bed where one of the Fairwinds crewmembers was laying he'd been alerted by Diana that the man who'd been in the engineering section of the freighter had suffered moderate exposure to radiation due to a plasma fire. Looking at Amanda for a moment he issued orders. "He's going to need a series of Hyronalin treatments but otherwise he should make a full recovery."

"Yes Doctor." Baker nodded and moved off towards the drug room.

Stepping away from the bio-bed the doctor looked at Acel'a.

"All of the patient's requiring Tri-Ox due to lack of O2 are responding well. I have one patient that was exposed to a plasma fire and would like ot keep him here in Sickbay for observation over the next few days, otherwise everyone is going to be fine." Raygard stated.

"Excellent. We are working on finding suitable quarters for everyone, without overcrowding anyone," said Acel'a, smiling. "As you or your staff is able, please keep us apprised of their progress, so one of us can get them to quarters assigned to them."

"Those of you that were being treated with Tri-Ox will be free to go to guest quarters in another hour or two. I ask you to try and remain calm and relax while my staff and I take a final round of vitals from each of you." When a woman tried to speak Raygard shook his head and focused on her. "Please Miss I will be happy to take your questions in a moment."

Acel'a then spoke up again. "Doctor, do you know of any officers in your department willing to share their quarters just until we return to Versailles? In case we need it I mean."

"I can ask my staff. As for my own quarters I'd have to talk with my fiance first." while he was not adverse to having a guest for a few days the cabin he shared with Carly was small even for the two of them. However knowing how giving his Imazdi was she'd have no problem...

"Actually, since the Marine barracks were opened up, having the Archer crew sharing quarters is just a precautionary option, in the event we cannot find anything better," said Acel'a. "As for you and your fiance, I will do my best to avoid putting anyone else with you, which is why I asked if any of your staff was willing to share quarters. We are basically looking at doubling up with single crewmembers, if the Marine quarters or barracks aren't suitable for some Fairwinds people," she added.

"I will talk with my staff and have anyone that is willing to double up with the Fairwinds crew to contact your department."

"Doctor.. Please?" the same woman called out again.

Raygard took a breath in and half smiled at the Acel'a. "Duty calls. Will you excuse me." Jason nodded and the turned on his heel and headed for the bio-bed the woman was perched on...

"Sure thing,Lieutenant," said Acel'a, smiling. She then quietly left Sickbay, to continue taking care of the quarters situation. Her next stop, Operations, to see how things were progressing there.

=/\= Ready Room, USS Cerberus =/\=

Rear Admiral Thompson sighed, looking into the display of his personal computer. The Cerberus had spent 2 months on the search for the USS Nautilus, and they still seemed no closer to finding the missing Federation vessel. The Cerberus was presently orbiting Shonoisho Epsilon VI, to give its small crew a short shore leave from the cramped ship. Being Defiant-class, the Cerberus was well equipped for battle, but not made for extended deployments.

Using the controls, he activated the comm system and opened a channel to Captain Quinn at Starbase Versailles

The computer chimed startling Ed a little he immersed in a report concerning some mislabeled containers and whatnot. Why he needed to deal with this was beyond him shaking his head he brought his feet off the desk and hit "connect". He did a double take when he saw it was an Admiral and took him a second to realize that it was Quinn's deputy. "Greetings Admiral."
Thompson chuckled: "I'm sorry, Admiral. There seems to have been some miscommunication. Please direct this hail to the commanding officer of the second fleet."

"Admiral I am the new Fleet Commander. Captain Quinn had to take an early retirement." Ed said, "I'm Admiral Ed Lane wish we were able to meet face to face and that Quinn could've informed you of the change but things had moved very quickly in the past few months."
The Admiral gave a grim nod. It was obvious that this retirement was not something Quinn wanted of his own volition. Yet the details would probably emerge when he returned to port and they seemed somehow unimportant now. "Understood. I'm submitting my report on my progress in the search for the USS Nautilus."

Rummaging through some PADDs he finally found the one that had the Nautilus report on it. "Ah yes....... it's been close to what 4 or 5 months of no contact with them." Ed said looking up from the PADD, "any luck on finding them?"

Thompson shook his head: "No luck. We have seached over 12 sectors over the past 2 months and we've found no sign of the ship. I have reason to believe, although this is my intuition, that it was lost with all hands. I do hope I'm wrong."

"Same here Admiral. Do you need more ships and man power?" Ed asked looking through the list of ships within range of the Cerberus and with the MACOs formed he could probably get a small unit out to him.
Jason nodded: "Yes, sir. The last system I wanted to explore contains a dense class VI nebula. If I had another 2 or 3 ships, I could explore it much more quickly."

Ed nodded, "the USS Aeneas (Sabre Class) and USS Rama (Defiant Class) are a day from you and the USS Trisoft (Nova Class) is 2 days from you. I'll send the CO's a message requesting their help in the search."
Thompson gave a final nod: "Yes, sir. Your assistance is greatly appreciated. I'll await the arrival of the reinforcements."

"Alright a message has been sent you'll have all of them within 2 days time. Also please allow your men and women to celebrate Federation Day. I know we're missing a ship and her crew but let them get some celebrations going." Ed said with a small smile.

"Understood. Thank you, Admiral." Thompson paused for a moment, lost in thought. He looked over to Lane one more time: "So I hear a new Vindicator has been commissioned?" The sadness of the lost of his first command still filled his heart.

"Yes she has...... and the crew are just moving aboard as we speak." Ed said looking hitting a couple of buttons and sending the Admiral the specs and crew roster.

The sight of the new ship caused Thompson to let loose a modest smile. "Thank you, Admiral. I will contact you as our search for the Nautilus completes. Thompson out."

"Thank you Admiral." Ed said closing the link and letting out a sigh first day on the job he's got a missing ship and celebrations for Federation Day not exactly the way he wanted to start his career as a Fleet Commander.

"Amira stay close to mommy." Jen said as she pulled her shoulder bag from the overhead compartment.

"Okay......." Amira said as she just watched all the people standing up and getting their stuff ready. "Mommy why is that person blue?" She asked pointing at a short stocky Bolian.

"Honey it's not nice to point." Jen said looking down at her daughter. "And it's because he's a Bolian. Once your old enough for school they'll teach things like that." She added with a smile.

Making sure she looked presentable, Evangeline saw the Admiral's wife and daughter disembarking.  Stepping up she smiled and held her hand out.  "Are you the Lane family? Welcome to Starbase Versailles."

"Yes we're but I was expecting my husband Ed Lane?" Jen asked wondering who the pretty brunette was.

Amira started tugging at her mothers skirt hem, "where's daddy?" She asked looking at the other women and than back to her mother.

"He is very sorry he could not be here to greet you, I am Evangeline York, The Admiral's personal assistant.  If you follow me, I can take you to his office, or I can take you directly to your quarters.  Which ever you prefer Ma'am and little Ma'am."  Evangeline smiled to the Captain's daughter.

"Oh........" Jen said thinking for a minuet, "maybe our quarters and than to his office if he's not too busy." Jen added picking Amira up not wanting to loose her in the crowd.

Leading them though the crowds, to their quarters.  It was quarters benefiting the Admiral's rank.  "He does have meetings scheduled this afternoon, If we go to the office, you might only be able to see him for a few moments.  But I can guarantee that he will be available this evening for you until the morning." Evangelina smiled to them both.

Jen just nodded, "alright if you could just let him know that we've arrived safely and just getting settled in and we look forwarded to seeing him later tonight." She said with a smile.

Evangeline nodded her head. "I will, and I will also make sure that a meal is delivered to your quarters Ma'am and little Ma'am.  And dessert.  Chocolate cake?" Smiling to Amira.

"Can I mommy, can I?" Amira pleaded with big puppy dog eyes and a big smile.

"Yes you can on one condition. You go to bed just as soon as daddy comes home." Jen said in a serious tone.

"Of course mommy!" Amira said squealing with delight and giving the other lady and big smile, "I love chocolate!" She added clapping her hands.

Evangeline was going to fall in love with Amira, she was sure of it.  "A big chocolate cake I promise.  If you will excuse me, I will get everything set and make sure the Captain know's you are in your quarters waiting for him to finish.

"Thank you." Jen said smiling glad she didn't need to cook. It was the last thing on her mind.

"York my office now!" Ed shouted from his desk looking over reports
mainly Strat Ops reports laying out where ships were and formations
within the fleet.

Jumping up from her desk, she grabbed a PADD on the way into the
commmander's office. "Yes Sir, what can I assist you with?" She
smiled.

"I need you to get Captain Howe in here now. And if he's not on
station figure out where he is. I need to speak with him." Ed said
rubbing his eyes it was only his second day and he already felt like
he was behind or missing something.

"Yes Sir, of course Sir." Leaving his office she made her way back to
her's. Hitting the terminal. "Computer, find me Captain Howe." The
computer responded that Captain Howe was on the station and in his
office.

"Have the Akagi and the Kusanagi widen their patrol patterns to cover
Archer's sector." Howe said to his yeoman as he starred out the
porthole in his office. Before she could reply another junior officer
beeped his comm. "Captain, You have a Communique It is from Admiral
Lane." Howe turned and nodded for the Yeoman to wait outside as he sat
at his desk. "Patch it through please." He said activating his
Terminal.

"That wont be nessesary sir." The Junior officer said.

Evangeline sent a MACO to get the captain and bring him back to
Admiral Lane's office.

"Ah Captain please take a seat." Ed said standing up and walking over
to the small kitchenette. "Coffee, tea?" He asked pouring himself some
coffee.

"Thank you sir, Coffee would be nice." Howe said taking a seat. "You
wanted to see me Sir?"

"Here you're." Ed said handing him a cup of coffee and taking a seat
himself. "As you know the Vindicator has been rebuilt which means the
USS Hades has lost her crew and instead of mothballing or just
sidelining her I would like her to stay active but I need to know
where she can be used effectively."

Howe accepted teh cup and thanked his host. He thought about the
request for a moment. "I have been following the reports Sir. I would
tend to agree that she would serve better active than as a mothballed
ship. I have also taken a look at the fleet dispersal. Starbase 747 is
short a couple frigates Due to decomissioning. A larger multi role
ship would do well in that sector. The Akira class is certainly fast
enough and has the nessesary equipment to carry out the tasks of the
smaller dedicated ships."

"Good, I'll get in-touch with Fleet personnel and Enlisted Affairs and
get the ball rolling on getting her a new crew." Ed said looking at
the Captain, "I also want some status updates on Fleet activities."

Nathaniel took a sip of his coffee and set the cup on a small coaster
on the desk. "Ships along the boarders have reported decreased raider
activity lately. However according to Captain Dar aboard the Hades, he
believes the raiders are simply biding time until we get bored looking
out at our back porch so to speak. USS Archer has requested to
rendevues with the USS Enterprise. I have pulled the Akagi (NPS) and
the Kusanagi (NPS) to replace her temporarily. Finally there have been
increasing reports that a ship matching the Archer's description has
been attacking colonies and ships in the area. While I have been
assured this isnt the case, the general population of the federation
and our neighbours are getting worried. Some are taking matters into
their own hands. The USS Carolina (NPS) was recently attacked by one
such group of private Ferengi traders and is in need of repairs.

Ed nodded, "my predecessor briefed me on the Archer situation. We need
to get ahead of this. Get some press releases out and hopefully calm
things down before it escalates even more." Ed said looking up when he
heard the Carolina was attacked by private traders, "any injured on
either side?"

"Aside from what i'm sure is a very brused ego on the side of the
Daimon, No casualties were reported. For now, I have apprised the
fleet of the potential treat from the Archer situation." Howe had only
been head of Strat Ops for a short time, but he was already beginning
to dread that name. "I am ordering all ships to excersise caution when
dealing with any unknown situation. We can't afford anyone getting
jumpy and having an itchy trigger finger."

"Good. Alright Captain that's all I needed keep me informed on anymore
attacks or anymore spotting of SF ships that aren't where they should
be or said they were going to be."

Howe Stood. "I will sir. I will liase with the head of Fleet security too,
hopefully we can come up with a few measures to keep our ships
from being attacked while we sort this situation out."

"Excellent. Keep me posted Captain." Ed said nodding his head allowing
him to know that he was dismissed.

A Mission Post by Commander Kestiana Sahal & Lieutenant Acel'a & Lieutenant JG Anne Cooper & Lieutenant Commander Sara Lenera
Mission: Double Jeopardy
Location: Operations Office
Timeline: After Acel'a's visit to Sickbay

~*~ Operations offices ~*~

The extra crew compliment -- even for a little bit -- was having a slight drain on the resources, but it was nothing they couldn't handle. However, reports still came into operations for mild problems. Those that were more severe went straight to the Captain and/or Executive officer. However, even with just mild issues coming to them, Operations was still a buzz with officers coming and going. Ensign Gwen Rivers made her way over to Lieutenant Anne Cooper since she couldn't seem to find Mr. Ravenel at all. "I have a report from engineering on the change in resources." She said in a small voice.

Sara was looking for the operations officer to see if there were quarters space in that area, she looked around, and went over by some of the quarters to see if there was any space for the fairwinds crew.

Acel'a entered the Operations Office and saw that Lt Cmdr Lenara and Ensign Cooper were in conversation. When there was a break, she spoke. "How are we coming with the quarters arrangements, so far?" she asked.

Sara looked at Acel'a "Well we are starting right away and talked to a few people that were in their quarters, to see if there's room for the Fairwinds crew.

"As I suggested earlier, there are still the former MACOs quarters, as they're no longer aboard ship," she remarked.
Sara looked at her. "Then maybe you should go over there, then I'll meet you after I'm in operations," she said to acel'a.

Anne nodded, "I was just about to say we've already chosen the Marine Barracks. If it's approved that is."

"Of course. I have no problem with that. In fact, using those will make it a lot easier to provide quarters without doubling up people," said Acel'a, smiling.

Anne nodded, "I'll get Engineering to help make sure the amenities are less scarce than the Marines tend to keep it."

"Excellent, one less thing to worry about, for everyone," said Acel'a, smiling.

CREW ADDRESS

Greetings Crew^_^

30 logs between crew and npc all joint logs. Actually one of our best bi-weekly count yet, I knew we could do better than teen counts as we have before. 8 active crew; much better than I had expected. Very good numbers here let’s see if we can keep it up I know we can I have faith in your logging ability even if some of you have no faith in yourselves. This week has seen the Fair Winds crew joining our crew for the trip home. Hopefully soon we should be meeting up with the Enterprise and going after the ship that has damaged the Fair Winds beyond repair. Do some character development; run a holo-novel prepare the ship just in case we find ourselves in a fight. Let’s make it fun and challenging for one another. (Sorry for the lateness of this Report I will try to get them out on time.) - Kai (today)

=/\= Fleet Commander's Office, SB Versailles =/\=

Last meeting of the day and it wasn't exactly a fun one. Learning that
SF JAG and SIA decided to make Vokar take an early retirement and put
him in seclusion left the commanding officer position open for the
Vindicator. And seeing how Commander Dar has been filling that role
for a little over 6 months Ed decided to give it to him if he wanted
it.

With the memo already sent it allowed Ed to look over the crew
manifest of the Vindicator. Noticing a large amount of MACOs he
decided to the send the MACO layout to BGen Jackson so he had an idea
were some of the MACO units were going.

Commander Dar approached the Fleet CO's office and hit the chime. He
expected it wouldn't take long before a meeting would occur and he
was't wrong about that. He just wasn't sure what the subject would be.

"Enter!" Called Ed as he signed off on a large shipment of supplies
for Four Corners and assigning an escort to it. "Ah Commander
Dar....... please come in and take a seat."

"Thank you, sir." Dar replied as he walked in and took a seat in front
of the desk, "Glad to be back."

"Ms York could please come in here with the refreshments and the
updated information on Captain Vokar." Ed asked deciding to keep that
particular isolinear chip in a secure vault.

Evangeline came in with a tray, with two coffee mugs on it. Cream and
Sugar on the side in separate bowls. Putting the tray down in front
of the men, she handed Ed the PADD she had with the information.
Leaving the office as soon as everything was done.

"Evangeline stay I need you to be witness for this conversation." Ed
said looking at the commander. "I want to keep this simple the
Vindicator needs a CO and seeing that you've been commanding the main
group of Vindicator's original crew I believe you should be the one to
lead them."

"Yes Sir." Sitting down, off to the side of Commander Dar to witness
the conversation, she put a PADD in her lap to take notes in case they
were needed for a later report.

Olan drew a slow breath, "Understood, sir. What does that mean for
Captain Vokar?" it didn't really change anything that he had been
doing the last while, just made it official. With that in mind he had
to wonder what became of the Captain.

"From my understanding is he's not under arrest but JAG and SIA feel
that it's too dangerous to have him in command of anything so they're
putting him in seclusion." Ed said knowing only a handful of people
that have had that happen to.

Olan's eyes widened, "Seclusion? Wait, how is he too dangerous?" this
didn't make a lot of sense.

"According to SIA they'll not entirely convinced that the Vanguard
saved him and than let him go. But they've no evidence to disprove it
and they feel that it's better all around just to put him into
seclusion."

Dar frowned at the implication but nodded, "Understood. What are our
orders once the ship is put through her paces?"

"We want you to use the intel that Vokar gave SIA and track down the
Vanguard that ambushed you." Ed said nodding to Evangeline to go get
the information out of the vault.

Seeing his nod, she rose to her feet heading to the vault. Punching
in the correct code, the vault opened. Opening the door she got out
the information the Admiral needed. Closing, and locking the vault
she took the information to him. Sliding it on the desk before
stepping back.

"We believe that Tia something has base of operations in this sector.
Again this is not even 5% verified seeing that Vanguard ever let any
kind of information slip out." Ed said.

Olan let a small grin curl up. Returning the favour to the Vanguard,
even though they did destroy a number of ships would be nice, "My
pleasure, sir."

Ed just smiled figuring that would be the answer he would get. "Again
like I said we've little to no intel on the number of ships, personnel
or what's out there. So be safe and get the bastard."

Olan nodded, "Yes, sir. I should get back to my ship if there is
nothing else, sir."

"Dismissed Commander and happy hunting." Ed said watching the Trill
Commander leave his office.

The recent reassignment to command the 2nd Division is consider as a high honor for Nathan Jackson. Yet he can only enjoy this latest success in his long career.

He lays on his couch in the luxurious office, the jacket discarded on the back of his chair near his desk desk. The last of the festivities of Federation Day has passed. The speeches and the social merry making now have come to its conclusion.

Lt-Gen Jackson now lays in the dark office, a glass of brandy sitting on the floor. The ice has melted to make the drink pale and sickly looking. He looks at his PADD, scrolling through his pics of his family. The images of his father, mother, brothers, and his wife, cut open old wounds.

Through disease and war has left him very alone at such an advance age. William and Daniel his two boys are now grown men and have families of their own. Pursuing a career in Starfleet and MACO respectively. So he now hardly hears from them as they become involved in their own lives.

Sally, the mere thought of her brings a smile to his craggy face. The little princess now in Starfleet Academy earning her commission to become a science officer.

She is still single and sends messages to him constantly about her latest achievements on some test or task presented in her lessons. But one day she to will be distracted with a life of her own.

Nathan scrolls to the last picture of his wife. He tenderly touches the screen, hoping to feel her warmth once more. He signs sadly knowing not now, not anymore. “Oh Victoria I wish you are here. Who am I going to talk to? Who is going to keep me straight?” he whispers.

He can still her laughter, and telling him “Oh don’t be so foolish Nathan! Stop being such a stubborn old fool!” she would say with a smile.

The hailing tone announces an incoming call. “General Jackson your reports on 2nd Division readiness has been submitted.”  He taps his comm badge “Alright George.” He looks at the chrono piece on his wrist. “It’s 2300 what are you doing still at work?”

Nathan shakes his head, “Look George if you stay late at work again, I’ll bust you down to cadet.” He said sternly.

Georges voice respond the sound of mock seriousness, “Perhaps I can get reassigned to a listening outpost. A little of solitude confinement never hurts!”

Nathan chuckles knowing his clerk is not as intimidated by his stern persona. “Well anyways you do not need to stay so late, you got family and a home. Enjoy it when you can, and that is an order. Jackson out.”

Nathan shuts off his PADD, knowing this office is more a home for him now. He walks over to his desk and begins to work late into the night reviewing status reports of his new command.

The two Kenada II-class Space Superiority Starfighters that served as apart of the 240th TDW flew in a tight element high and over the Akira-class starship that was their carrier. In the fighter marked "Phoenix One", Marine now MACO Second Lieutenant Gaberial "Crashdown" Striker was watching "Phoenix Four" AKA Ensign William Kent Thrace Pierce AKA "Gryphon" as he flew in formation next to him.

Unlike several of the other pilots like Shark and Duck in the squadron, Gabe and Kent had a mutal history in the service. During the latter half of the Second Dominion War they had served together for a good portion of the war up until a special operations mission had done some.."damage" to their careers. Gryphon had joined the regular navy as a pilot while Gabe went and taught what he knew.

But now either the Prophets..or Fate..or Karma..or any combination of the three had a really sick sense of humor to have the two of them once again working together, especially with everything that had happened between them that last time.

=^=I can hear you thinking over there, Crash. Stop it since you're not rated to do such things.=^= came Gryphon's voice via the flight's communication's channel which shook Gabe out of his thoughts.

"I'm allowed to think, it's a free galaxy after all." the half-trill said back into the channel.

This was met with a dry, mirthless chuckle. =^=Next I suppose you'll be wanting to talk about what happened all of those years ago, Crash.=^=

"Look we need to at somepoint otherwise it's going to hurt squadron morale.." Gabe started to say until Gryphon's voice cut him off.

=^=Hurting squadron morale, gods damn it Gaberial! If you had cared about that kind of thing before then most of our old squadron would still be alive and you would've been captain by now of your own air wing and I would've been happily..=^= he retorted angerly before cutting himself off.

Inside of his own fighter, Gryphon had to close his eyes and mentally count backwards from ten in Andorian before opening his eyes when he noticed that while his eyes was closed, his targeting retical was now hovering over the left rear section of Crashdown's fighter, right over the primary shield generator. Gryphon shook his head, he was the senior pilot in the squadron and harming Crashdown wasn't going to bring any of their long lost squadron members back..

Gryphon eased his targetin retical off of Crashdown's fighter and moved to enter formation with his commanding officer again. "You are right though on some level, Crashdown, we do need to settle this and soon." he said tightly.

=^=I agree, do you think that captain and the CAG will have a problem with us having a little Dance?=^= Crashdown asked.

Gryphon smiled at this, the "Dance" was as old in naval traditions as calling a ship a "she". "I think I can ask Lieutenant Maida and see what she can arrange." the younger pilot replied before he noticed something on his board that blipped in and out for a brief second. "That's weird.." he started to say.

=^=Gryphon, did your sensors just pick up a blip real fast?=^= Crashdown asked at that moment.

"Yeah..I think we'd suggest that we double the CAP or get our sensors worked on." Gryphon replied.

=^=Roger that, let's head back to the barn. Our patrol is just about up.=^=

Matt sighed, checking his chronometer another time. It would be another day before the Archer would arrive. His commanding officer, Captain Tora, decided to give him leave on the Starbase while the USS Serenity docked, so that he could enjoy himself for a bit before his new assignment. He walked around the Promenade, looking for something to do. He wasn't sure what to think about this transfer. He had served on the Serenity for the past 5 years, and the ship and crew had certainly made an impact on him. He definitely respected Captain Tora and had seen quite a bit of action during the Krivaldi-Dominion war. These experiences bind a person to a certain place.

After what seemed like an endless trek around the Promenade, he decided a holoadventure was in order, and set about to rent a holosuite. The nearest one he could find was managed by a shorter Ferengi male. He approached the man.

"I would like to rent a holosuite for an hour."

The Ferengi looked up to him and smiled, with a toothy grin. "I believe we can arrange that. The cost is 10 strips."

Caldwell returned his smile: "5 strips." He wasn't fresh out of the academy.

"9 strips. There are plenty more customers where you came from. 9 strips is a very generous offer."

Matt shook his head: "6 strips, and I'm already thinking of walking." He made a show of it, pretending to feign disinterest and walk away.

"Fine!" The Ferengi called out: "7 strips. Most huu-mans would have taken the 9."

Wanting to get his holodeck time in, he nodded and authorized the charge with his thumbprint. He handed the Ferengi a small isolinear chip. "This is the program I'd like to play."

He took the chip and headed for the controls as Mark walked into the holosuite. The holosuite grid filled the room with bright yellow lines. Once the program began, the lines disappeared and the room became the Klingon warbird Kor'mich. He was no longer Lieutenant Commander Mathew Caldwell. He was now H'Ta Sogh, of the House of Rak'to. He probably could have set the program to a higher rank, but he himself hadn't earned it. It wasn't very honorable. Being a Sogh (Lieutenant) made for a very hands-on experience.

The new crewmembers, H'Ta included, stood at attention as their Captain and First Officer examined them. The Captain paced back and forth, looking each warrior in the eyes, before addressing them as a group: "I am Captain Kon, the Captain of the Kor'mich, an honorable vessel of the Empire." Holding a PADD, he continued: "I take your lives into my hands. There is much honor for the taking here. The Dominion and Breen have formed an alliance and the Federation lost the Chin'toka system. It is only the Klingon empire that stands between victory and defeat. I tell you. It is a great day to be a warrior. Songs will be sung of the battles we will soon commense. Now, take your stations. Q'Pla!" The Captain ordered. The group nodded in unison and walked out of the Captain's ready room, to take their stations.

H'Ta looked around at the bridge and quickly needed to decide whose station to take. To take a station, he would have to challenge and defeat a Klingon warrior. The helm was manned by an old man, who seemed like an easy target. The tactical station was manned by a young warrior, whose size and strength were evident simply from his appearance. It would not be an easy victory, but it would be a more important role.

H'Ta looked back and forth and quickly considered his options. Which station did he want more?

~*~ Ready Room ~*~

Kestiana made her way to the ready room to report to Korath, on the fairwinds crew getting settled and situated... She waited for the captain to call her to enter report in hand. Along with the report on the weapon signature off the hull of the ship.

Korath paced the small confines of the ready room. He stopped as the chime rang out. "Enter!" he bellowed.

Kestiana entered the office wondering what's got Korath's anger up this time. "I have those reports for you that you've been waiting for." She said handing them over to him.

Korath took the PADD and looked it over. "There were no problems in finding places for the Freighter crew?" He asked.

"A small one, but we managed to find a place for everyone." Kestiana said moving to lean against the desk that belonged to Korath. "We had to double up a couple of crew members."

The Klingon set down the PADD, "what sort of problems?" he asked.

"Finding quarter space gave us a slight hiccup, but we managed to find space for everyone. We turned the old Marine Barrack into quarter space." Kestiana explained with a winning smile.

Korath nodded slightly. "I trust the deck was visually checked to make sure there were no left over Marine equipment left behind?" He said. He had made a check himself, more of a move to erase every last trace of the first MEU commander. Major Autum still left a foul taste in his mouth.

"Aye captain, not only by you, but myself as well." Kestiana smiled letting him know that she knew of his little trip to the old marine barracks. "Other than that everything went smoothly and everyone is settling in nicely.

"That is good, we should however be arriving at Versailles in several hours. We should stay as long as it takes to transfer the civilians and our logs before we head out to meet up with Enterprise."

Kestiana couldn't help but smile at the thought of seeing Jon again, "Um." She clears her throat. "that sounds about enough to get any supplies we need to replace as well before heading out." Kestiana added.

"Just barely, however there is quite a bit of pressure from fleet command to get this situation handled."

"I understand captain. I'll be sure to have a list of supplies before we even reach space dock so they can be handled without delay.

As Kes had finished, the Bridge Duty Officer activated the comm. "Captain, we are within visual range of Versailles."

Korath pressed the comm button on his desk. "Very well, Drop to impulse and prepare to transfer the Fair winds crew."

Kestiana stood to leave Korath's office so the two could be on the bridge for the crew transfer. She had every intention though of being in the transporter room when the transfer took place.

CREW ADDRESS

Greetings Crew, :P

Great Week, No unexcused, No excused, every one logged 13 active crew and 30 logs. I consider that a very good and very productive week. I however, need to send out an apology to 1Lt K’Eklyr in the last sim report I missed her logs so I’ve added it to this sim report as well as her log count. Alright we’ve reached Starbase Versailles and are in the process of transferring the Fair Winds crew off the Archer and have picked up a few new crew members ourselves. There should be a plot log coming out soon from either myself or Korath, or both with getting underway again. Take this opportunity to get out some personal logs meeting up with old friends or contacting family because we won’t be docked for long. - Kai (today)

((A side not for Daka, when doing sim reports check both the list and the website so we don’t miss anyone again. I missed K’Eklyr because I didn’t check the site. That was my mistake no one elses))

Artimus Zion's Personal Log - SD241108.29 personal log Artimus Zion

The following is a personal log from Artimus Zion.

=/= Artimus Zion quarters - USS Archer =/=

Arty had been hard at work with the computer and the PADD blueprints shortly after returning from the holo deck after the simulation with Kes he thought about it, he thought instead of taking battles why not create a holo version of the Kobayashi Maru you could then use any ship and any scenario. Arty had spent the past few weeks working on it he decided for the test program that he would use a ship created by him and then if it worked well like the others then he would send the program to Starfleet for them to assess.

So far most of the ship was done the computer in the holo deck would be able to make it but some of the systems might cause a issue since Arty wanted the simulation to be as real as possible using real world dynamics, the ship was 6 feet across at the front enough space for one pilot as it went back the corridor got bigger having peopled sitting in the sides. The ship would have 4 decks at the rear would be the command seat with holo readouts, four engines two on each wing coming off the back of the ship would propel it.

It would be a smallish vessel captains quarters then the main area with medical and XO office and CO office, then deck lower AI suite, engineering, life support, crew quarters, mess last deck cargo bay, weapons control and left and right side Observation rooms. Arty had already named the ship Nova SR2 the SR2 stand for Schematics revised v2 arty went over all the information and blueprints one more time he wanted everything right before he went off to the holodeck to create this behemoth and create the program.

Arty had not heard much from Kes lately they had exchanged a few messages about a new novel and Arty in his spare time was working on that too, it did not give him much time for socialising but he made time for his civilian liaison work, he picked up all the PADDS and headed to the holo deck to see what he can create with the computers help.

A Mission Post by Lieutenant Jason Raygard M.D. & Commander Kestiana Sahal
Mission: Mirror Mirror on the wall...
Location: Senior Officers Mess Hall I.S.S Archer-D
Timeline: 241108.29

~*~ Start Joint Log ~*~

Raygard had called it quits himself not long after he'd relieved Amanda Baker of her duties for the rest of the day. What he really needed was to take some time just relax. Killing Tasha McIntosh had taken more of a toll on him then he'd care to admit. It had been a long time since he'd used his telepathic in a offensive attack.

As he stocked down the corridor heading towards the Senior Officers Mess he didn't bother to return any of the salutes that the junior officers under him gave showing their respect for someone higher in rank. The doctor had his mind firmly set on getting something to eat and could still his grumbling stomach.

When he got to the door leading to the mess hall he was surprised to see one of Commander Sahal's personal guards was standing at the door. As he approached the man came to attention and saluted.

"Doctor..." he started and then looked over his shoulder at the closed door. "The Commander is not in the best of moods at the moment I would urge you to be very careful when you enter the room."

Jason arched an eyebrow and nodded his thanks for the words of warning as the man moved to allow him access.

Stepping inside the large dining room the doctor made his way to the buffet table where the ship's chef had laid out a number of different foods. Raygard ignored the far left side of the table where a few Klingon dishes where set out. Instead he choose a grilled boneless chicken breast along with some of the green's and topped it with some of chef's house dressing. For a drink he poured a glass of white wine and then moved towards the dining table and sat down opposite Commander Sahal.

" Your guard outside warned me not to disturb you Kestiana.."He started after swallowing a sip of wine. "Is there anything I can do to help? I am surprised that you have not tracked down your attacker and worked him over with your oh-so-tender touch in the Agoney Booth."

Kestiana looked up at him, at first she didn't look as if she was going to comment. Then she gave Jason one of her rare smiles and said, "Nah I know exactly where he is. I'm waiting for the right moment to bring it up." Kestiana gave Jason to a wicked smile. "I know you would love to see how it's done, but we have to have patience for the sweetest of all victories." she practically purred taking a bite of her Lasagna.

Unwrapping his utensils from the cloth napkin Jason then used his fork to spear a piece of the chicken breast and eat it. "Yes these things must be done delicately. After all revenge is a dish best served cold. I also wanted to thank you for the peek at the techincal blue-prints for the Booth. It's an impressive piece of technology. But I was equally impressed with the synaptic hook up you came up with that lets you not only control the machine but also give you a direct link to the person's thoughts and emotions while they are in the Booth. That is pure genius." The doctor said all of this in between bites of salad. "Not only is it a effective punishment device but also you could simply take whatever information you want right out of the victim's mind."

Kestiana stood and moved to sit in Jason's lap with a soft smile and a purr her hand caressing his cheek down to his neck. before she grabbed his collar and pulled him closer glaring into his black eyes. "I hope you were careful with those damn plans, No one is to know about those modifications and if you go around talking about them with every Tom, Dick and Harry standing around your going to find us both in the Booth together with someone else at the controls." She growled under her breath knowing that her personal guard was loyal to herself and no one else if he knew what was good for him...

Jason felt the color in his face drain away he was amazed just how fast the Commander could go from being almost sweet and seductive to anger and rage filled. Her black eyes going cold. Putting up his hands the young doctor did his best to calm her down.
"I swear to you Sir, no one has seen the schematics for the Booth except myself. The padd you gave me with them is in my quarters under lock and key. Your modifications are still unknown to any of the crew. The Captain included."

She touched his lower lip with her finger tips. "Good your proving more and more I can actually trust you." She smiled softly not getting up from his lap, she actually liked being this close to the doctor. Korath was always too busy to just sit like this anymore. He was hers and she was his, didn't mean they didn't have 'Other' past times as well.

Taking a deep breath as he felt a rush of relief travel down his back, the doctor reached for his glass of wine and took a sip of it and swallowed. His other hand moved to grasp Sahal's hip. He had to admit that he found the Commander extremely attractive, and he knew that if he formed an alliance with her it would be to both their benefits. Looking into her eyes a smile pulling at his lips, the doctor stated in a low tone.

"All I have to offer you is my loyalty and devotion and my oath as a member of the Royal house of Betazed that I would gladly put my life on the line for you." Jason allowed his hand to slip from the woman's hip to her inner thigh. "After all it was you that alerted me to McIntosh's deceptions. Once we are back in our own universe it would not take much to see to it that you are "known" as a friend of my family, perhaps more."

She could smell the wine on his breath and his hand on her hip, Oh hell she was after all a woman with a healthy sexual drive and he was a very good looking man. Korath hadn't even given her an offer like that. "Really is that a fact?" She asked on a growling purr.

With a woman like Sahal at his side one that he was beginning to think would be his equal there was no reason not to think that she would be a good choice as a mate and wife, not to mention she was damned attractive too. Yes she'd be the type that could help him usher in a new era for the Betazoid Star Empire. Changing the topic for just a moment the doctor's lips pulling in to an evil grin. "I am really hoping to see the Booth in action soon. Blueprints can only tell a person so much, I'd say its time for a practical demonstration."

Kestiana smiled wickedly, "I think I can find you a not so willing test subject. there are a few waiting for me to get off of lunch." Kes said breathlessly, Korath had never wanted to watch her work, and having someone interested in what she did was a huge turn on...

Jason nodded and then moved so that his face was just inches from the Commanders "There is a certain satisfaction in a little bit of pain." Being Betazoid he had to admit that he did get a perverse pleasure from the pain of others, and hearing that there where crewmen waiting to be punished for whatever misdeeds they'd incurred while he and the Commander sat and ate their meal and discussed their fate like they where no more then dogs aroused him more then anything.

Closing the gap so that his lips brushed against hers for just the briefest of moments before pulling back the doctor used his hands to help Sahal to stand once more. "Not that I don't like having you in my lap... But if I didn't put you back on your feet we might never get out of here, and you have appointments to keep."

She smiled a man after her own heart who so did enjoy the pain brought on others. She would have Wyvern in here one day, and he would not leave alive... she sat down and finished her food.

Raygard made fast work of the remaining salad and chicken on his plate. He chose to forgo his usual desert as he didn't want a heavy stomach when he and Kestiana made their way down to her office, escorted the entire way by the Commander's personal guard. That was one thing that Raygard had not even thought about. As a he was only a Lieutenant and a Medical officer he was not considered a risk by most of the crew on the Archer. However once he became a Lt. Commander that would change.

When they entered Sahal's office he could see Crewman Pine and Ensign Johnson in holding cells in the other room both men where pacing back and forth in their cells clearly they where both full of nervous energy knowing what was to come. They couldn't hear or see the doctor or the Commander for the moment but they could see them on small monitor screens.

"So how many hours has each of these two idiots racked up, and for what reason?"

"As many as I want they both failed to show up for duty and you know how Korath doesn't tolerate tardiness." She purred with a wicked smile.

Jason shook his head "Johnson should know better. Being late for his duty shifts will not be tolerated. Thankfully I have no one in my department that is so stupid." The doctor stated shaking his head.

It was then that he caught sight of a door to the left off a small corridor from the Commanders office. He'd never noticed it before. However now that their where two guards standing by it he realized it was the entrance to the Booth chamber, he couldn't help the wave of both interest and the urge to flee that came to him at the same time.

"It's in there isn't it..?"

She turned to look at what he was asking about. "Yes." She said softly. She motioned to the two guard and they moved into the cell with Crewman Pine and Ensign Johnson. They reached for Johnson first. wrapping a blindfold around the struggling Ensign's eyes and chained him between the two guards so he couldn't get away. "I find when you cant see, it heightens the rest of your sensors." She grinned wickedly. It also protected her secret. Once the whimpering Ensign was brought into the room. She moved towards it with Raygard in tow.

"Watch the other one and don't bother me until I'm done." She said with a voice that said she expected there to be obedience.

"Yes Mistress, the guards nodded and moved away from the door. Her own personal guard didn't have the stomach for this kind of thing, so she trust that Jason would guard her while satisfying his curiosity...

Jason took his tri-corder out of his lab coat and opened it. He held up a hand so Sahal wouldn't start just yet. He wanted a pre-booth scan of Johnson. Of course the Ensign's heart rate was increased and his rate of resperation was also elevated too. However he was in good health. The doctor arched an eyebrow that of course was going to change as soon as Sahal flicked the switch.

She didn't touch anything The Ensign was strapped tightly into the booth you could see him trying to struggle to get out. using her telepathic abilities she stepped into the interacting console she had added too the booth and took a seat linking her mind through that console to the booth.

"Let's get started shall we?" she grinned. Kestiana wasn't one to start out small by any means.

Raygard nodded, he thought he was fully prepared for the first yelp of pain that came from the prone man but he it was almost an ear-splitting shriek. Jason could see him desperately trying to fight against the straps holding him in place. Quickly the Betazoid doctor allowed his mental shields to come up lest he be overwhelmed by the waves of pain and agony rolling off the young Ensign. He looked over at Sahal. She had a look of concentration on her face as she watched the man intently, after a few moment Johnson went slack and was panting heavily.

She wasn't heartless, too much pain and she killed the subject of her displeasure at the moment. she didn't want him passing out now did she. She smirked, he'd have a minute or two then she started again.

Walking around the booth so he could see the man from all angles the doctor looked at Sahal. "Interesting how you allow them to have a few moments of rest in between jolts. Keeps them guessing when you will throw the switch again and what nerve cluster will next be assaulted..." Raygard was about to say something more but Johnson's next scream cut him off, his body convulsing with the pain once more.

Moving to the door leading to the Commander's office he allowed it to slide open and then tapped the control to keep it open. Motioning to one of Sahal's gaurds he told the man to open the door to her office and leave it open. " I want his screams to be heard on this deck. Stand guard at the door of the office so no one can enter."

The man nodded his complexion going slightly green.

Turning back to Sahal. "Letting his screams be heard will act as a deterrent to others and keep them from breaking regulations." He watched as Johnson continued to writhe in pain. " If he passes out I will be sure to give him a stimulate to bring him around again."

"I never let them pass out, that's one of the reasons I let them have that moment or two to breath." She smiled a wicked grin at Jason and licked her lips.

When Kestiana flipped the switch again Johnson's body went slack. He started to beg for mercy. Jason shook his head moving towards the booth again.

"Johnson..." he in a calm and falsely reassuring tone. "You got yourself in to this mess. It doesn't become you to plead for mercy. Your an officer in the Empiral Fleet. Buck up and take your medicine like a man."

"Please.. No more.." he whimpered.

Raygard shook his head and looked at Sahal and nodded. Now that he was part of this he figured why not play the "good" cop to her bad. " Hit him again... We shall make him understand who is in charge and why rules exists on this ship!"

"Aye Aye sir." Kestiana grinned liking Jason's enthusiasm for what she did. She flipped the switch again and motioned for Jason to come closer to her.

Raygard moved so that he was standing just to the side of the control chair that Sahal was seated in. He could just see the synaptic lead that was attached to her forehead just below the her hairline a small blue LED light blinking as she continued to apply stimulation to Johnson's nervous system. He could just make an a slight grin of concentration on the woman's face.

Bending down so that he could say in a low tone in to her ear. "Remind me never to get on your bad side. I do believe your enjoying this."

Standing back up again he watched as Johnson continued to wither in pain for a few more seconds before Sahal released the switch once more and his body went slack. Jason could just barely hear the other man mumbling that he was a loyal officer and would correct what he'd done wrong and not let it happen again.

Somehow, Jason realized that even with Johnson saying that it would not be enough to get him out of the Booth any time soon. He could tell that Sahal had every intention of braking the man before he was released.

Oh she did indeed plan on breaking the maggot of an officer in her booth. Because every officer she broke wasn't just loyal to Korath, but to her as well. She gave Jason a very wicked smile letting the prisoner breath for a moment or too mumbling away. "Do you wanna try it once? it's a huge rush." She grinned as if high off the pain of the other officer. She moved out of the seat the attachment to her forehead extending as she moved to stand before Jason waiting for his answer...

The doctor took a only a moment before he sat down in the chair and took the synaptic hook up from Sahal and placed it on his forehead. Almost immediately he was linked to Johnson and there was no way to block the waves of thoughts and emotions washing up against his mind. It was the most intense thing he'd ever felt. The synaptic hook up also allowed Raygard to see even the deepest darkest thoughts of the other man.

Shaking his head he looked up at the Commander. "His childhood was just horrid, abusive father and a mother that was hooked on drugs." Jason continued to invade the Ensign's mind and let out a chuckle. "He thought joining the Empirel Fleet would be an escape and a way to get away from his father."

Kestiana smirked. "Guess he was mistaken." She purred sitting Jason in the chair. She stood behind him, and pressed against him nibbling on his ear while he felt the intensity of Johnson's mind her hand moving into his lab coat excited by the pain she inflicted and the chance to share that with someone.

Up to then Jason had not pushed the button to activate the machine and his finger hovered over the control. When he pressed it he was hit with a flood of pure unadulterated pain and agony, however it didn't have the effect he thought it would. Instead of making him feel ill it was one of the most intense euphoric highs he ever had.

"I can see why you enjoy your work so much. This is insane!!!"

"Oh yes. and very very exciting." She moaned in his ear, pressing her breasts against his shoulders as she continued to nibble against his ear, her hand unzipping his uniform top. "you enjoy it too don't you?" she purred in his ear excitedly...

A shiver of arousal went down his back and pooled in his groin... The doctor tilted his head slightly to expose the nape of his neck to Kestiana as he continued to ride out the waves rolling off of the other man in the booth. When he his finger slip from the button. The rush of relieve that hit him was so strong that he almost climaxed then and there.

A Mission Post by Commander Kestiana Sahal & Lieutenant Jason Raygard M.D.
Mission: Mirror Mirror on the wall...
Location: Main Security I.S.S Archer-D
Timeline: SD 241108.29

~*~ Continue Joint Log ~*~

After a few more moments of letting the Commander use her hand to pull and tease at his chest hair he realized that the link between himself and Johnson went both ways. The Ensign could feel everything Jason was feeling as he was fondled and touched by Sahal.

Kestiana grinned biting Jason on the neck teasingly before nibbling. One hand continued to pet and stroke his surprisingly muscular chest for a doctor her free hand moving lower. She enjoyed sharing this moment with Jason even when not hooked up she was still feeling what Johnson felt through her betazoid senses...

Even in his tortured state of mind Johnson turned his head to the side towards where the doctor was seated and a very slight grin came to his face. In his mind he could hear the other man's thoughts. ~Your a sick son of a bitch!! I hope you rot in Hell... if you think she loves you then your mistaken...~

Jason's finger slipped to the button again and he upped the level of the pain inducing waves two more levels. He'd teach the other men for tying to invade his mind. As Johnson continued to buck and pull at the straps Raygard looked up at Kestiana over his shoulder.

"You didn't tell me that telepathic link was two way.." Jason finger pressed harder on the button. "He tried to tell me with his thoughts that you don't love me... I want him to suffer for that..."

"You know you keep enjoying this and I might just have to give you my heart." She growled moving around to sit in his lap while he punished Johnson. She kissed him as he held the button, nibbling his lower lip...

Raygard grinned as Kestiana continued to play with his body. He was finding it more and more difficult to concentrate on Johnson. He finally had to release the controls so he could turn to look at the Commander. "Let's not start something we can't finish here and now." he brought a hand up to loosen his uniform collar then help Sahal back to her feet, when he did his own arousal becoming obvious, his cheeks blushing red in embarrassment."You'd think I had have more control over myself then that. Not like I am 15 years old..."

"I think it's refreshing." Kestiana smiled straightening out her own clothing as well.

"I think you should continue at the controls from here on out." the doctor said as he disengaged himself from the chair and then stood up. "I would much rather watch you work, seeing as your know the Booth better then anyone on the ship. Not to mention just how far you can push someone before they have had too much."

Kestiana smiled and moved to retake her seat and finish working on Johnson until she had completely broken him down motioning for her guards to take Johnson and bring in the next officer. She had never enjoyed her work so much as she had today.

=/\= Fleet TiC, SB Versailles =/\=

Ed was standing in the much smaller room of the fleet TiC (Tactical
Information Center) waiting for his guests to arrive. RAdm Thompson
his deputy, RAdm Douglas Chief of Star Fleet Intelligence, BGen Jaxa
Fleet Intelligence Officer, Captain Howe Fleet StratOps officer and
than finally Commander Dar CO of the Vindicator. One last minuet
addition LtGen Jackson the MACO 2nd Division Commander.
Commander Dar entered the room, pausing just inside the door to look
around before finding himself a seat and waiting for everything to
start.

Around the same time a subspace communication came through from
Starfleet Command. Rear Admiral Douglas of course wouldn't be able to
make the trip out personally to Versailles in time so he would have to
be remote. Before the meeting started he transmitted the information
Intel had collected so far on the Vanguard base for Jaxa to distribute
to everyone.

Rear Admiral Thompson had returned to Versailles hours earlier,
bringing the crew of the USS Nautilus back with him. The ship had not
been recovered and the crew of the Cerberus were rather disappointed
as they returned to the station. He walked into the meeting room and
promptly took a seat, waittng for everyone else.

Brigadier General Sito Jaxa walked around the corner and into the
briefing room. She took a seat and reviewed her notes. The updated
information from RAdm Douglas scrolled across her encrypted PADD and
her eyebrows furrowed in thought. She turned her attention to the
head of the table.

Captain Howe walked in and nodded to the other officers. He carried a
PADD with him with all he would need to know on the fleet deployments and
assets in the area.

"Thank you for everyone for coming. I'll allow Commander Dar explain
the mission and what he needs to accomplish this mission." Ed said
turning to the Commander and giving him the floor and access to the
pool table to help demonstrate what the mission was and how it needed
to play out.

Olan nodded to Ed, "Thanks to work done by Starfleet Intelligence, we
have located a Vanguard base several light years this side of Alpha
Eridani. The idea is simple, the Vanguard has been running around us
for years now and struck a bit closer to home for my crew. Now that we
have located a base we have a chance to strike a win for us instead."
Rear Admiral Douglas smiled a bit, "One of our scout ships detected
the base in an abandoned mining system. It is currently holding
position outside the system keeping an eye on the base itself. I have
provided Commander Dar and General Jaxa the necessary access codes to
communicate directly with this ship to gather up to date information."

"I only had a short time to review the information the General
forwarded to me, but it looks like there are currently four medium
cruisers, a handful of escorts and a number of smaller support craft..
likely shuttles and maybe some fighters." Olan continued, "I propose
we take the Vindicator with a detachment of ships from the fleet to
strike the location and claim the base."

Thompson nodded in approval at the plan. The Vanguard had been a thorn
in his side for many years. "Do you have a plan for a diversionary
attack? I am concerned that the Vanguard will attempt to fight a
delaying action when you attack, and we'll allow their most valuable
assets to escape."

Olan nodded, "That may depend on how many ships we can devote to this
action. Depending on how good the Vanguard intelligence network is,
and we have to assume they're not slacking off, moving too many ships
off their normal assignments may draw attention." he brought up a
quick holo mock up of the system with a basic two pronged attack plan.

"The system has a lot of asteroids, but not so many that they can't
easily be avoided. The vast majority had been mined out and broken up
decades ago." Olan indicated one group of ships, just little arrows at
the moment, coming into the system on a typical attack vector, "What
can appear as the only fleet can enter here, a calculated warp in on
top of the base. We don't know how good their sensors are so we will
probably want to hide out by this gas giant until we launch."

"Naturally they will scramble defensive forces, assuming any ship
capable of fighting will attempt to delay us while anything else
escapes out of the other side. Anticipating this tactic we'll need to
try and box them in as best we can and have a secondary fleet standing
by to intercept any ships that escape." Olan pointed to the other
cluster of arrows farther off on a different trajectory, "The problem
is hiding that fleet. There's only one planetary body big enough to
hide any fleet this size."

Commander Dar looked around all the other more senior officers, "I'm
open to modifications of the plan. Assuming this is a base belonging
to Osric Tia's faction, he'll have some surprises for us too. He likes
mines and subspace weapons platforms." Dar finished with a not too
subtle hint of distaste.

Chris narrowed his eyes at the holo display for a moment, "Starfleet
Intelligence may be able to assist with the second fleet. I'll need
some time to arrange assets but I think I can pull together enough
ships to make an effective trap... and not have to worry about hiding
behind a planet."

Ed looked at the display, "alright we've discussed the ship power now
we need to discuss are we going to board the station?" Ed asked.
Looking to General Jackson allowing him to give suggestions of what
they would need if a boarding did take place.

"If so, it will have to either be a fast surprise entry should these
raiders. be using transport inhibitors; or we would probably be better
off with a few boarding teams using shuttles at various entry points in order to
split their attention." Howe said. "In fact We should have several pilots
coming in for integration Into the Maco units shortly. I can have them
assigned to fly support."

Nathan looks at the station layout, thinking for a moment. Then nods
to Howe assessment on multiple entry concept. ³I would suggest that
with the Vanguard I like to dish out a little bit of deception. See
how they would like to swallow their own medicine.² He said, his eyes
alight with a bit of excitement.

³First we can keep them guessing, have a fairly large number of
shuttle craft to be assigned, leaving only a fraction with the actual
boarding parties.² Gen Jackson high lights the typical locations for
capturing critical points on the station.

³The decoy shuttles I would recommend them outfitted with sensor and
holo-emitter systems, and even reaction mass to make the shuttles
appear to have boarding teams, along with breach charges. The shuttles
with MACO boarding team will come in as well. When the shuttles link
with the Station hull and simultaneously blow the hull breach charges.

This will force the Vanguard to spread their forces out.²
Nathan makes some notes, ³Then all shuttles can break away, to carry
out the deception. The MACO assault teams then can secure their beach
heads, plant computer virus and Trojan protocols at the local access
points then move on to their objectives.²

³The optimal situation is the cyber-protocols will leave the Vanguard
blind and leaving us with the initiative.² After highlighting the
objectives and supporting data he leans back to listen further as the
meeting unfolds.

Commander Dar nodded, "The Vindicator itself has a fully company and a
squadron of Phantoms to put to use here. I don't believe we have
assault shuttles however we do have the space to carry them in."

"There is also the 241st available to support the vindicator's
fighters as a reserve if need be. They are here for training, but I
see no reason for not fielding all the assets we can." Howe added.

"We should be able to load them up as well. The Vindicator used to
hold upward of 30 fighters." he glanced over to Howe, "Unless there is
another ship capable of carrying them that is coming along. Speaking
of, what ships other than Starfleet Intelligence do we have to commit
to this?" he had a sense of the fleet distribution but not which ships
could be re-tasked on short notice.

"I think that the Hades can fit that bill seeing that she is a Akria
class." Ed said looking at Howe allowing him to bring up a list of SF
ships that can be used for this specific mission. "Also the USS
Messina can attend this attack." Ed said with a smile.

Thompson raised his hand, slightly: "The Cerberus is currently on
route to Starbase 22. I will order it to return to Versailles to take
part in the attack. It's a defiant class, so it should bring
considerable firepower."

³Even with the starships being part of the operation with their MACO
elements onboard, I suggest we can beef up the numbers by assigning at least
an additional company from 2nd Division. They can serve as a reserve force.²
Jackson said.

He scratch at his chin, ³I would not be surprise if the Vanguard will try to
pull a fast one. The MACO¹s can be an asset in preventing either a counter
attack on the station or repel any boarding action on the ships.²

Olan nodded, "In that case I recommend the company be assigned across
the rest of the fleet. The Vindicator won't be able to hold more than
she already has and if boarding is a concern we'll want to have some
MACOs on each ship."

"General Jackson I want you to place the MACO units minus the one
already on the Vindicator while Captain Howe I want you to get the
ships ready for deployment and General Jaxa and Admiral Douglas I want
your people ready yesterday." Ed said looking around the group. "We've
a lot of work to do and not a lot of time so let's not waste anymore
time talking."

Douglas nodded, "Already in motion, Admiral."

³I¹ll have the units mobilized within the next twenty-four hours sir.²
Lt-Gen Jackson replied.

Howe nodded. "I should be able to have the fleet ready by that time."

"Thank you gentlemen you're dismissed but could Cmdr Dar and Admiral
Thompson please stay behind for few minuets." Ed said nodding to the
rest of the officers.

Olan did some quick math in his head. Twenty-four hours should be
enough for any last minute work on the Vindicator and to fill in his
senior staff. He glanced over at the Admirals and nodded, staying in
his seat.

Chris nodded and stood, "I will make sure everyone receives up to the
minute data from the scout as we receive it." he added before stepping
out.

Once everyone had leave, "gentlemen please follow me." Ed said leading
them to his small office off of the TiC.

=^= Fleet CO's Office, SB Versailles =^=

"Take a seat gentlemen." Ed said as he took his, "now I've just met
the both of you but I've had time to look over your jackets and also
I'm usually quick to tell whose worthy." He said with a smile
appearing on his face, "and you two are just that." He said sliding a
black velvet box to each of them.

Commander Dar blinked a bit not really daring to think what might be
inside the little box. He didn't say anything though, just reeled in
his moment of surprise and looked up to the Admiral to await
confirmation.

Thompson was not particularly worried about being called aside. The
admiral probably needed to share additional intelligence with the two
of them, and that it would be on a need to know basis. This was his
assumption, at any rate.

"Rear Admiral Thompson I'm here by promoting you to Vice Admiral with
all the rights and privileges. And Commander Dar I'm here by promoting
you to Captain with all the rights and privileges." Ed said standing
up, "congratulations you two."

Newly minted Captain Dar stood and shook the Admiral's hand, "Thank
you, sir. I'm surprised to say the least."

Thompson did not know how to react at first. He was emotionless for a
second, as his mind struggled to process this feeling. Somehow, he had
always wondered if he would someday become an admiral and, now that he
was moving even higher up, it still didn't seem quite real. He found
himself thinking back to his days on the Coronado, when he was fresh
out of the Academy.

"Thank you, Admiral." Thompson finally smiled.

"Dismissed and congrats." Ed said as he watched the two officers walk out.

Artimus Zion's Personal Log - SD241108.31 Personal log Civiliain Artimus zion part 1

The following is a personal log from Artimus Zion.

=/= holo-deck 3 - USS Archer =/=

Arty got to the holo-deck he tapped on the control screen and said "computer access folder Zion and run program nova." The computer took a few seconds and then said [programming running please enter when ready] Arty walked to the doors and entered the program finding himself in on a shipyard with a gantry walkway leading to nothing. Arty transferred the contents of his PADD's to the program and for the briefest of moments he looked out at the simulated space and wondered what other had thought then they first stood where is was standing in the heavens.

Arty called out "computer have the yard orbiting aany class M planet, add a few moons and a sun and small nebula" the computer beeped and responded [complete] Arty looked out and thought the few looked better he sat on the table by the window and said "computer create ship NOVA from the information in the program for the ship, use real life physics and engineering methods have the airlock connected to the gantry" the computer simply said [working] Arty sat there and watched as bit by bit the ship was built in front of him, taking a minute to read a few things Arty paced back and forward in front of the window has he watched. He knew at some point it might go wrong he not an engineer and the design was unorthodox.

Just then the computer said [construction errors present, please advise super structure unsafe] Arty looked over the screen on the wall where the computer was showing the problems, Arty said "computer makes changes to make the frame safe and complete within parameters of the space" the beeped and went back to work Arty watch it make slight changes. After what seemed days that had been in real 3 hours the computer said [NOVA ship complete EDI reporting main power offline system shorting, computer core malfunction, auxiliary power offline, software issues lift and some doors un operational. ] Arty stood there looking at his ship all dark and dead wondering what have I created. He moved to the start of the gantry way and picked up a torch and am engineers kit he then stopped dead in his step.

Arty turned his head and said "computer who or what is EDI?" the computer responded promptly with [Enhanced Dynamic Interface - EDI it is the ships A.I. system] the reply gave Arty another question he replied "who created EDI there was no A.I. in the plans?" Arty wondered where that had come from, the computer beeped and said [using real life data ship NOVA would need A.I. system to help run everything inside ship, so system was created to complete the ship.] Arty thought ok he walked the rest of the walkway and got to the airlock down which was closed he tapped the button and nothing he opened the side panel marked manual release and started to turned the handle, slowly bit by bit the outer door slid open. As he got the door open enough to get through he spotted the inner door and said "bugger."

Arty thought to himself my gym instructor would love to see me know after another battle with in the inner door in was open, he entered the ship it was dark and every time he breathed out you could see a cloud. He thought to himself how am I going to get this thing up and running he thought for a second he could cheat and get the computer to do it but Arty like a challenge, there was a dim light coming from the cockpit area he tapped it and a small blue globe appeared a PADD appeared and the globe vanished, Arty pick it up and read it seemed EDI had come up with a way to power the ship it would be a long shot but it could work Arty walked back to the yards drafting room.

Artimus Zion's Personal Log - SD241108.31 Personal log Civilian Artimus zion part 2

The following is a personal log from Artimus Zion.

=/= holo-deck 3 - NOVA ship program - USS Archer =/=

As Arty got back to the drafting bay he said "computer save program now" the computer beeped and said [program saved] Arty then said "computer put a screen on the all here and a terminal table so anything I pick can be made, on the screen I want a full catalogue of everything a engineer might use tools and equipment he might need to replace or install." The computer did was it was told and created the stuff; Arty then tapped on the table and started too looked through the data base of stuff. Arty said "computer I need a bio-neural gel pack, 2 quantum flux regulators, a T-9 energy convertor and sonic driver" after a moment or two the things he ordered appeared he picked them up going forward and backwards taking everything into the NOVA.

Arty worked hard tearing the stuff he got to pieces and using the bits that he needed he went to work, he was no engineer so the work was a bit sloppy and rough but it would do for now it might even add something to the training program. After an hour working in the cold and dark which was a bit funny since he was on a holo deck, he hit a button and activated the solar cell covering on the hull of the ship. It was like a fire work exploding all the lights came on, with all the screens and systems coming to life Arty replaced the panel and got up having a good look around the command area of the ship.

Just then a voice said [welcome aboard the Nova holographic training ship am I EDI] Arty jumped a little and before he could say anything EDI continued [main power offline, auxiliary power charging, computer core malfunction] Arty watched as the globe pulsed as EDI talked he guessed that was her he said "I'm on it" EDI did not respond which Arty thought a bit odd since she was meant to be a A.I. after some pressing and pushing and shouting Arty got the computer core to lower the 2 stuck cores and said "EDI run computer test" the lights flickered and after a few moments of silence EDI responded [computer core running fine, software systems fully operational welcome Arty would you care to take a tour." Arty said "not right now EDI I'm going to see about main power what is the problem a short?" EDI replied [correct every time I try to power up the drive system it shorts out the control terminal.]

Arty nodded and after a life ride down he was there placing his hand on the rail he got a little shock him he thought maybe it was not earthed properly, he doubt he should be getting shocks he opened the panel in front of the control terminal and the one in front and crawled in a little so he could see the wiring. Just then EDI said [what is my purpose Arty] with a driver in hand checking the wiring and making some adjustments Arty replied "you're a training program hopefully Starfleet might use you as a replacement for the Kobayashi Maru, since with you they can battle the Borg and add new technology." The blue globe moved to a holo emitter to the right of Arty on the wall and said [will they change the program?] Arty replied "probably change the ship for their classes of vessels and there will be no A.I. Starfleet has computer cores standard ones."

EDI said [so why are you doing all this if Starfleet will remove lots of it] Arty removed some wiring and added a joint, replying "this is my program for me and others to use here. Starfleet's copy of the program is just the yard and the physics I sent it before I came to the holo deck now let me get back to work I tell you what why think up some scenario missions we could do." EDI just vanished Arty got back to work unaware he had a visitor to the holo deck and they were on the ship too.
