As the name suggests, we're a bunch of similar minded individuals that for whatever reason, like spending our time playing about in the North Sea at a latitude more northerly than Moscow. And before you ask, no it's not that cold, no seriously it isn't. According to the Aberdeen Met office, the sea temperature off Aberdeen beach ranges between 4 and 15 degrees Celsius (see we told you it wasn't cold!)

However our playing has a purpose, and since Aberdeen City Council withdrew paid Beach Life-Guard support from Aberdeen Beach we have become the sole provider of Lifeguards at the beach. This consists of running patrols on weekends between June and September. We also run courses to qualify people to NARS Beach Lifeguard standard and beyond, and compete in the SLSA National and International Championships (held every year down South, somewhere warm!)
