Jonathan's note hit home with me, particularly the part about
distrusting organizations and disrespecting authority. (I think,
these days, what Americans really need is an epidemic of AS. Maybe
Saddam Hussein can release that instead of Anthrax!
Anyway, I'mm also undiagnosed, except by a layman (actually, a
lay-wife, who is very tolerant of me---she was once a Monetssori
teacher, so nothing I do surprises her.
I had never heard the word Aspergers until about a year ago, when I
read about a woman whose son was re-diagnosed from ADHD to AS. So I
looked it up, and that changed my life, Now I feel p[erfectly
comfortable about my idiocyncracies.
I've found that I could get jobs very easily, and actually keep a few
of them for a while, particularly if the job gave me a fair amount of
free reign and required attention to detail (journalism was perfect).
NOw, in my 60's, I'm becoming a hermit. Never did socialize well,
but I could do fine with one individual that was also odd. Three was
not a crowd, it was a crush.
