As with Lisa, I haven't been specifically diagnosed
with it but I do have auditory problems. I don't hear
people talking (even raising their voices) to me when
I'm focusing on a task & shut off in my own little
world. When I'm tired & out with friends, like in a
bar, I have trouble seperating individual voices out
from the background noise because I'm overloaded by
all the over noises plus my hearing gets pretty bad
when merry or tired, so I resort to kind of half lip
reading, half listening.

Also, my name is Ian and I'm regularly distracted
by people calling out words that end in an 'ian'
sound, keep thinking someone is calling my name so I
turn around to see who wants me. I also have a time
delay recognising some stuff, for example my folks
might be in the garden & so have said "answer the
phone if it rings because we're expecting a call from
____" and I can be sitting here at my computer desk
with the phone a foot away from my keyboard and it'll
be the fourth or fifth ring before I think 'oh, the
phone's ringing'. As mentioned in one of the two
previous posts, I also somtimes have a time delay in
processing some sounds and speech, I replay the sounds
in my head to turn them in to words and figure out
what I missed. I also obsess over some sentences that
I've heard and play them over in my head a few times
till I feel I've gorged myself on the sounds and
meanings.

There's probably other stuff but there's always so
much stuff that I can only remember so much of it when
asked too, odds are I'll remember more after I hit
send :P

Ian xx
