Hi Angela

I am a 29 year old autistic American Christian male. I understand what you went
though. I have been a Christian for three years now. I have had a similar
problem like you and know how it's like to be alone and have a difficult time
making friends I have the same problem before I was a Christian I never was able
to get a date and I was so lonely I tried a mail order bride service and she was
Russian and she used me and robbed me out of money and I tried to commit suicide
after my suicide attempt I met Oliver he led me to Christ and Calvary Chapel of
Orlando FL which I attend now I have friends who do not have asperger syndrome
they treat me normal and I have overcome my asperger syndrome by trusting and
depending on God and relying on his help I have allowed God to work with my
disorder I have lived a better lifer I have a little more peace.I also didn't
know what was wrong with me until I met a teacher at my church who work with
autistic people than she look up types of autism and I have asperger syndrome. I
know you live in England I do not know where. I do not know if your husband
remarried or not.
This church may not be right one for you . I am going to keep you in my prays
and pray God will help you. I am starting a asperger autistic ministry at least
I am trying to.
I have taken biblical counseling classes and I have passed and completed them. I
hope to use my biblical counseling to help people with asperger syndrome like me
and to give them hope by relying and turning to God for help and sharing his
peace and love and how to overcome asperger syndrome like I did. Right now the
asperger autistic minstry God is having me do is by e-mail for now and hope to
do personal minstery.
I can advise you on this do not trust any worldly counselors.
I know that you are going though hard times right now but God will help you and
will provide you with all your needs.
I know there are 14 Calvary Chapels in UK England area.
To find the nearest one go to www.calvarychapel.com
I would suggest that when you go tell them a brother in christ from Calvary
Chapel Of Orlando FL USA sent you.
Angela I am going to pray God will send you a helper to help you and I want you
to know God cares for you and he will help you. I care. Feel free to e-mail me
anytime.
May God protect you and fill you with his love.

In Christ
David

Subject: [Aspies dugout] New to the group

Hi everyone,

I have just joined this group somewhat in desperation. I am 48, and was
finally diagnosed as suffering from Asperger syndrome last December. By
that time, my life had been destroyed because no one understood what was
wrong with me. My ex-husband left me for someone else in 1999, and,
since my divorce that year, I have been left alone, unable to cope, in a
place where I have no friends and no relatives within 100 miles. I am
not well enough to work, and struggle to do ordinary everyday tasks. My
only close relative is my mother. She is aged 80, and lives 200 miles
away. She comes to visit me when she can, because I cannot travel, but
it is very difficult for her, because she has to come alone, using
National Express coaches. My mother and I have been trying, and are
trying still, to get me moved to where she lives, so that she and I can
see one another, and I can also get some support from other relatives
which I have in the area. However, no luck so far, and I am just having
to try to survive from day to day. My mother is trying to keep going for
me, and I have to try and do the same for her.

So I thought I'd try this group as part of that effort...

I have tried to do positive things. Last year I graduated with a
first-class honours degree (humanities with classical studies) with the
Open University (UK). But I cannot continue even studying unless I can
move to a place where I have some human contact. The only "real" people
I see are shopkeepers. I live in a place which has limited public
transport, and am now too ill to even use that. So I am simply a
prisoner here. I tried to make friends at my local church (I am a
Catholic Christian), but that failed too, and I no longer feel able to
go there.

So, as usual, I live for my computer... This is bad, because there is no
one here to help me with it if it goes wrong. Last year I tried to
commit suicide when my last computer blew up (literally) on me. My
mother had to pay my ex-husband to get a new one set up. I don't think
he is around now, if the same thing happens. But I can't help it. My
computer is something I can relate to (or think I can...). I don't have
the same success with people.

Best wishes,
Angela
