While I don't normally bother with conspiracy theories, that does not
surprise me in the least. The world of the oil tycoon is small and
tightly woven, to say the least.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that acquaintances make good friends.
That America would risk implosion of her economy (by crippling the
finance markets) for the sake of an excuse to start a rolling war is
more than a little far-fetched. History will be the judge - whoever
gets to write it.

The logic or truth of it doesn't matter. What matters is that it can
be presented in such a way that the blinkered masses can believe it.
