I don't think there is a "the atheist's point of view". Atheists
just don't believe in its big boss guy.

If heaven is defined as where the big boss guy rules then the answer
is we don't believe in it because we don't believe in the said big
boss guy.

If we're talking about whether consciousness survives death in some
way or other and where at least some people's consciousness winds up
is nice, then I'd say we're agnostic on the whole question. Whatever
way it does survive death if it does clearly has no measurable
impact on the physical world.

Personally I find the thought of heaven boring. Anything going on
for ever without a bit of conflict to even watch and the whole thing
going on forever sounds too awful to contemplate.
