Re: Whether heaven exists or not.
Remeber there was this slight kerfuffle over a philosophy exam
question that asked whether Hell was exothermic or endothermic?
I came to the following conclusion, upon the premise that hell did
not exist as an entity in any real sense. However, if the word "hell"
frightens the dumps out of anybody, then it affects their metabolism.
It brings them out in a cold sweat (which means blood temperature
rises, or am I starting to get it wrong already?) and therefore has
properties linked to heat transference even though it does not exist.
So next time you guys start to brainstorm about whether anything
exists, try to define what you mean by "exist"! It's not as simple as
we think.
hi ranter, jargon, tony, tim and everybody, I would like to elaborate on one issue. An atheist's view is that there is no heaven. Am i right?? Ok Now, What is...
... heaven? I don't think there is a "the atheist's point of view". Atheists just don't believe in its big boss guy. If heaven is defined as where the big boss...

I'm not agnostic on the question of the afterlife; there simply isn't one. Consciousness--"you"--requires the physical organ of the brain to exist. Ergo, with...

I don't get in a sweat about hell, any more than it bother me that Santa Claus doesn't bring me presents down the chimney. Does that mean I've been bad? The...
Well, isn't that a nice ad hominem. If you actually understood the nature of consciousness (that it is, in fact, the product of a massive parallel processor),...
Well, Tony. Do you have any thoughts on the nature of Time, what it is/is not, and why do we have a time sense? Joking and swearing aside (for which I...
There's no time, and there's no space; there's only spacetime, as space and time are opposite sides of the same coin. When you say we have a "sense of time",...
You say there is no space, and no time. Then you go on to say there's only space-time. Could you elucidate please? Secondly, i wasn't aware that Entropy could...
Space and time are not separate; they are opposite sides of the same coin. Time began in our universe with the Big Bang, which was also the start of space,...
Dear Tony, I know space and time are not separate, and that they are both opposite sides of the same coin, and that IN THEMSELVES, they do not exist. We have a...

First off, infinity and eternity can be different; a closed space can exist eternally. The universe, for example, is not infinite, and is expanding. It would...
For fuck's sake. I've heard it all now. How many Infinities do you want? How many Eternities can there be? I though I may be laying it on a bit thick, and was...

Logically aburd. The concept of heaven is a religious concept therefore an atheist would reject it. After all, if you reject god you cannot keep heaven? ...
