Re: [Atheism UK] We cant be frightened to critisize

Hi Kevin & the rest of the Group. My names George. Here's a little
introduction before I make my reply.
I believe there might be a God, but I am certain the he's not the one
portrayed in the Bible. I think he might be some sort of universal power, which
could have a effect on us, however it's something the individual or group can't
effect by prayer. I am very anti main stream religion & I don't see the point
of any sort of organised religion. If many Atheists don't like organised
religions, purely down to the fact they don't like being organised in to groups,
it might be a problem mobilising Atheists into a coherent group which can
influence our media today
The whole media mindset seems set up so not to cause offence or even as you
say Kevin to criticise religions. Theatres or Cinema's today can't even put on
slightly religious play, musicals & films without it causing some protest
outside. No one today seems to be allowed to debate & if Atheists. do, get a
toe hold on today's TV programmes, they get shouted down as misinformed or
just plainly wrong with no leeway been given my the religious apologists &
fanatics that they could be even slightly wrong.

All the best

Geroge

quiet. We should always point out that religion is only a belief, not a truth,
it is an idea only the same as fascism, communisim and the belief that fairies
live at the bottom of your garden. The police arrest 24 people who were
arranging to blow planes from the sky, and they are labled racist by the likes
of Galloway {who i shall be ranting about later} and so called muhamadist
leaders. Home Secetery John Reid the day before the arrests talks about problems
faced by immmegration, terrorism and crime, and straight away muhamadist
comentators accuse him of racism. This is want they want, to stop us asking
questions about their vile beliefs. It is not racist to ask questions about
beliefs, any beliefs. Why should we respect peoples views when we find them so
bizzare, so ideotic. We cant be frightened to critisize, to
argue that all religion is a belief and to demand our right not be
discriminated against because of our belief.Kevin WoodAthiest and dyslexic
