I've just posted a new message on the Leicester Secularist
blog "Richard Carlile remembered", and a short biography on the History
page of the Leicester Secular Society. The blog message is mainly to
present a secularist view of William Wilberforce, to counter those put
out by religious organisations, and others, who see him as almost
solely respoinsible for the abolition of slavery.

There is a programme about Wilberforce in the "In Our Time" series on
BBC Radio 4 on Thursday (22nd Feb). I'll be interested to hear how they
treat him - hagiography or rounded history?
