I only look at the messages on the web. As one of the admin however I
have received three enquiries for membership from new people just
recently. I don't know why there is this sudden interest in the
group, since we haven't been exactly active!
One of these applicants I have just approved, another someone else
must have approved, and a third was apparently denied (he wanted us
to publicise another group whose ideas were self-evidently wacky).
We are in competition with a lot of other active atheist sites these
days, I'm glad to say. Particularly the Richard Dawkins Net. I used
to visit the Brights Net, but they got a bit repetitive - new members
always asking the same questions and going over the same old points.
Other sites I look at regularly are the BCSE Forum, New Humanist
Blog, BHA Science Group, Think Humanism (though not lately), and I
subscribe to the NSS Newsline by email (it comes out every Friday).
Perhaps other members could list their favourite sites, particularly
ones where they post comments.
I've also been posting on The Agnostics Brief Guide to the Universe,
but mainly as a contrary voice. Do you prefer sites where you can
have a good argument with people of opposite views, or are you
looking for confirmation of and support for your atheistic views?
