i'm not a big fan of everyone on that list, nor do i know their bio's,
but it looks like they were all american, which may be why audrey
wasn't on the list, but i'd like to think that she wouldn't accept
that kind of "bribe" from the tobbacco industry.

I cam across a news story about how "big tobacco" forked out a fortune
for our classic Hollywood stars to smoke and endorse cigarettes.
Have a look here:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/7632963.stm

Granted, the article doesn't mention Audrey, but do you reckon she got
paid for smoking for a while? Her Holly Golightly does make smoking
look awfully glamorous, for example.

eBay! What a good idea! I'm not much of a bidder, I admit, but
browsing is fun. :)

See, I was never even thinking about doing anything remotely as
advanced and challenging as that! My idea of getting myself an my
collection into the digital age is clicking my mouse and purchasing a
DVD or two. :)

although i've never done it, it is possible to move video into your

She has a good sense of humour that Shirley MacLaine and she says all
those things with such a deadpan look on her face! :) Too bad the
sound quality isn't better.

I would like to do that as well, but I only have "Wait Until Dark" on
VHS and now I find myself in a bit of a muddle because I can only
watch DVDs. I should do something about that. For example move my film
collection into the digital age. :)

Oscar or no Oscar, a person's voice is a very important part of them
and I don't generally think dubbing enhances a cinema experience. I
agree what you two said about the dramatic roles, they are Audrey's
best work. Still, the light comedy films are so much easier to watch,
so on the whole those are what I pop into the player more regularly.
Lazy-brained me. :)

Nice, I thought! I had no idea "Coco" was one of Audrey's favourites,
but I am not very surprised. Have a look and tell (all two others of)
us what you think! :)

When you get it, you'll be in for a treat with Wait until Dark! It is
best enjoyed with someone whose hand you can hold when it gets scary,
but it's even just with a big bowl of popcorn. :) It's pretty scary
that way, mind you! Do you want to see the trailer or do you prefer to
not get any preview?

Hello again you lovely people, Anya and Dana! :) I know you are tired
of hearing my excuses but I have been ill. No life hanging by the
thread kind of thing, but the flu really takes it out of me, sorry I
haven't been around. Let me see what you have been up to while I was
unable to get out of bed! :)

Yes, i think she would have gotten the oscar if her voice was left
alone. Still, i believe her acting in the nun's story and two for
the road are more worthy of the attention.

there are some who feel that she would have nabbed an oscar that year
if marni hadn't done her singing for her.

i've just watched the DVD special of My Fair Lady. Without meaning any
offense, I wish they didn't dub AH's songs. Her version have more
emotion in them. Of course. If she did the film in these times, her
voice would have passed. Look at the musicals in the past years.
Moulin Rouge, Chicago, etc... Nicole Kidman doesn't have that great a
singing voice either. I would have liked MFL much better if it wasn't
dubbed. Even my mother (who isn't really supportive of my AH
endeavors) agrees with me.

Among all the news stories about Victoria Beckham's latest hairdo
(which apparently brings to mind Audrey and Mia Farrow, if you were
anxious to know) I found this enjoyable if silly article:

Who knew Audrey napped so much? :)
