The Avon Mountaineering Club - Avon MC.

This Yahoo group is a private group, set up for members of the Avon Mountaineering Club.

The Avon MC is a British Mountaineering Council (BMC) affiliated club run for mountaineers, climbers and hill walkers by mountaineers, climbers and hill walkers. We arrange a number of weekend trips throughout the year. Individual members also arrange day trips and longer trips, details inside. Although we do not formally give training in mountaineering or climbing anybody of any ability is very welcome to join Avon Mountaineering Club.

Although we are based in Bristol and Bath we will happily accept members from anywhere in the UK as we use this group to communicate and arrange our trips. The majority of these trips are arranged via this website and so we recommend you subscribe to gain access to all the web features.

If you wish to join Avon MC you are very welcome to join through this group (preferred). Just press the "Join" button above and follow the instructions or email the address below. You will then be sent details of membership via email (a membership form and other details). Once we have received your membership form and fee (currently £20.00 and runs annually from January 1st to December 31st 2011 inclusive) we will send you your membership card by post and allow you access to this group.

The Club meets every month on an informal basis. We meet on the first Tuesday of each month from 9:00pm. Currently we meet at the Pump House, Merchants Road, Bristol, BS8 4PZ. Tel; 0117 927 2229. Look for the club mascot, Ozzy the stuffed toy Owl!
