Hi there
too right i really don't know where to start so I'll answer your handy questions:
My name is steph and i now live in Kent, England, but am actually Scottish and spent my formative years going to gigs and generally partying hard in and around Glasgow - anyone remember Sophisticated Boom Boom? loved by John Peel and great to look at but sadly unheard of..............................
First ballboy song I heard was 'they'll hang flags from cranes upon my wedding day' played by steve Lamaq on radio 1 - the very next day I was off buying the only ep i could find at that time, the brilliantly titled girls are better than boys ( how true!)
subsequently bought first 3 albums ( if club anthems counts as an album) and guide to the daylight hours is still a huge drunken fave round mine of a friday evening! - my favourite song is avant garde music, which i nominated as my leaving anthem after 6 years of working for HMV ( and enjoying major discount on all my ballboy stuff)
if you were to buy a cd tomorrow you really should own either of the goldie lookin chain albums - yo son, yer missus is a nutter should DEFINITELY be the first song played as bride and groom take to the floor on their wedding day ( it's certainly gonna be mine if anyone ever takes me on!)
you also need to know that since leaving HMV I now work in a library , which would seem appropriate for such a fan of lo fi whimsical indie slush - but don't be fooled, i also belt out frequently ( in no particular order) NWA nerd eminem grandmaster flash ...................... mind you even ballboy and hefner can sound quite cross when played at full volume
you also need to know i spent a fairly drunken introspective night playing the sash my father wore and other songs over and over again, convinced it was all about my father
take care
Steph xx
