Packing lots of questions and news into one post here.
i) New album - any news on how much longer till release? I'm going
traveling round the world for a year from the end of October and I
demand to be able to listen to the new ballboy album. Or I politely
request it at least:)
ii) Shows - ditto. Cmon one in England in or pre mid October? Pretty
please? I would make the flight for the Edinburgh one but I have to
work that day.
iii) Not sure if anyone has ever heard of Coverville (if not you
should check it out, excellent podcast made up entirely of covers and
there are some brilliant covers. If the Beseech cover of Gimme Gimme
Gimme or a capella covers of I predict a riot don't make you smile
there's no hope for you) but I got ballboy's cover of Born in the USA
played on there. http://www.coverville.com/archives/podcast/
it's number 357, even if the host does think it sounds like Breakfast
at Tiffany's (well the chord progression is the same in fairness),
leading nicely on to:
iv) I decided to do a couple more tabs which were missing. I'm fairly
confident about Kiss Me, Hold... less so about Past Lovers where I
can't decide whether I'm missing a chord after the second c in each
verse, the strings always throw me. Also the c4 may just be a c but I
think it gives a bit more oomph when played solo so meh:
past lovers
c4 x32013
I [c]remember when it started,
In the [f]thunderstorms and darkness,
And we [c]stood together in a room,
And [g]waited for the [c]night,
And the silence gathered round us,
Semi-[f]naked in the darkness,
And you [c]put a finger to my lips,
And [g]said to me just [c]this.
Let's not [c4]talk about the others,
Let's not [f]talk about past lovers,
All the [c]history you bring to me,
Has [g]melted like the [c]snow,
Let's not [c4]talk about the others,
Let's not [f]talk about past lovers,
There are [c]things you have inside of you,
It's [g]better not to [c]know.
And now I'm sitting drunk at midnight,
With the [f]memories of my life,
And I'm [c]wondering what changes came,
To [g]make me feel so [c]old,
But before the sadness claims me,
And be[f]fore the darkness takes me,
My vague [c]memory allows me,
One more [g]picture of your [c]lips,
As you say.
Don't [c4]talk about the others,
Don't [f]talk about past lovers,
It's the [c]silence that you bring to me,
That's the [g]greatest thing of [c]all,
So don't [c4]talk about the others,
And don't [f]talk about past lovers,
It's the [c]silence that you bring to me,
That's the [g]greatest thing of [c]all,
So don't [c4]talk about the others
And don't [f]talk about past lovers,
It's the [c]silence that you bring to me,
That's the [g]greatest thing of [c]all,
Let's not [c4]talk about the others,
Let's not [g]talk about past lovers,
It's the [c]silence that you bring to me,
That's the [g]greatest thing of [c]all.
Kiss Me, Hold Me and Eat Me
Capo 1 [C] [G]
C-G repeated for while at the start
[C]Once upon a ti[G]me long ago[C][G],
A boy and [C]girl fell in [G]love even [C]though,[g]
They knew the [c]risk,
They were [g]cannibals,
They [f]could not [c]afford to get too [g]close,
They knew the [c]risk,
They were [g]afraid to kiss,
In, [f]in case they [c]ate each other [g]whole.
[c]Then one [g]day he said,
I, [c]I can't take this [g]anymore,
It's,[c] it's love or [g]death he said,
I, [c]I can't take this [g]anymore,
So [c]kiss me, [f]hold me and [g]eat me,
[c]Kiss me and [f]hold me and [g]eat me,
It's fatal I [f]know,
But [c]what a way to [g]go,
It's fatal I [f]know,
But [c]what a way to [g]go.
So [c]kiss me though it [f]means the end of my [g]life,
And [c]hold me though it [f]means the end of my [g]life,
And the [f]sun will [g]shine down on [c]this our only [g]kiss,
And I should [f]run, for the [c]hills but I can't [g]resist,
And the [f]sun will [g]shine down on [c]this our only [g]kiss,
And I should [f]run, for the [c]hills but I can't [g]resist.
[c]Well she took him [g]in her arms,
And [c]said all this will [g]be OK,
You're, [c]you're more than [g]food to me,
And I [c]only eat my [g]enemies,
And [f]you are the [c]best friend that I [g]have,
[c]I love you [g]more than food,
And though a [c]King would not taste [g]half as good as [f]you,
It's [c]love I need you [g]for,
[f]It's [c]love I need you [g]for.
So [c]kiss me, [f]hold me and [g]eat me,
[c]Kiss me and [f]hold me and [g]eat me,
And the [f]sun will [g]shine down and [c]this could be the [g]start,
I'll take your [f]hand and [c]you can take my [g]heart,
And the [f]sun will [g]shine down and [c]this could be the [g]start,
I'll take your [f]hand and [c]you can take my [g]heart,
So [c]kiss me, [f]hold me and [g]eat me,
[c]Kiss me, [f]hold me and [g]eat me,
[c]Kiss me and [f]hold me and [g]eat me,
[c]Kiss me and [f]hold me and [g]eat me,
It's you that I [c]love.
p.s. I think the bridges in both songs just follow the same
verse/chorus patterns.
Cheers,
