Description

This group is set up to be an archieve for the Bronze Age New World series of posts. Created by Doug Muir on the newsgroup SHWI, and here is his message:

A while back, I said I was thinking about throwing my "Polynesian
Arawaks/Bronze Age New World" TL open, in the manner of the "Submission"
TL. Several people expressed an interest then, and at least one person
has actually written an installment.

But I /didn't/ throw the TL open, because I wasn't completely
comfortable with the idea. "Submission" is a lot of fun, but sort of...
anarchic. And I have the broad outline of PA/BANW history worked out; I
wouldn't really want to go back and retcon it all because someone wanted
the Iroquois to develop ironworking, or some such.

On the other hand, the Bronze Age New World is too big for me to do in
anything like the detail it deserves. Especially given the mounting
constraints on my time these days.

So I'd like to try a third way: an open-but-moderated TL. Anyone can
post, but there's a moderator, me. Posters e-mail stuff to me; I edit
it and e-mail it back, the poster reposts it to the NG, and it's entered
into canon as an "official" chapter of BANW.

(Possibly it may be best to do this as a two-step process: the poster
mails me a short proposal for what s/he wants to do, I review that, then
the post gets written. This avoids the unhappy situation of someone
writing a 2,000 word post on "The Seminole: 16th Century Superpower"
when canon requires that the Seminole be completely wiped out by 1450.)

I don't think this has been tried before, but I'd like to give it a
whirl.

So. Would there be any interest in this? If "yes", please feel free to
contact me directly at " vormuir @ yahoo . com".
