Thanks for the suggestion. Yes, JD, who I don't know, is clearly misusing his email system and ours. It is entirely up to you to decide what you do or don't receive from Yahoo Groups. You can configure your membership to receive ONLY important messages from the group moderator. In the light of your complaint I would suggest you do this at once. Just to remind you, this is a voluntary service, run for residents by residents - we don't have a manager, incidentally - four of us work together on a day-to-day basis without any bureaucratic structures (which generally waste time and energy) or money passing hands.
As you will know from my recent email I have discouraged use of this site for individual requests. These should go to barbicansalvage@.... Please note, as also previously mentioned, the store is currently closed due to asbestos being
present in a donated item. It is being decontaminated by a profeessional firm. We will inform everyone when this has happened.

me. is there a way of making this forum's day-to-day activities less
public, so maybe people could email the store's manager directly
about parts, and the manager respond directly to them (rather than
having this go out to the whole forum). if there aren't parts that
the person is looking for, maybe the manager can then email out to
the entire forum a request for that part.
