Hiya I recieved the info I requested from PANL (provincial archives
of Newfoundland and Labrador) today, I asked them to search for my
Joseph Beeso born 1860 parents. It appears the tree is correct as His
father is Michael Beseau and mother Ann Lewis excellent!
The bad news is that PANL are closed now until 1st september as they
are moving location, so my idea to send for Mary Jane Butt's details
and also michael and Ann's details has gone out of the window sob...
It says on the paperwork any queries recieved after april 1st 2005
will be returned.
The tree is really growing now, if anyone wants to add their photos
or old family photos to the tree please let me know and I will put
them onto the Gedcom file. I have started to put a few of my family
on there, but need to scan some more in. The tree files will be
updated in a minute or two.

Hiya everyone the tree really is growing now!!
In the files section I have added a gedcom file of the tree so far, I
am just learning how to do this so not sure how well it will work.
Basically its a file that you can open in your family tree building
software (family tree maker, genpro ect)that will let you view and
edit the people in the tree so far.
If you download it please go through your section of the tree and let
me know of any errors particulary in the spelling of your branches
surname i.e. besso, besaw, beeso ect as it gets quite confusing but I
would like to try and get it as accurate as possible.
Thanks everyone
Michelle

Hiya Lori thanks for joining the group! Well there have been quite a
few different spellings in our branch of the tree and Besson has
appeared a few times. Whereabouts are your family from ? That should
help to narrow down your search as usually each country has its own
sites to help do research.

Hi, We have a Bisso (Biso, Bissault) in our family. Some relatives
are still living in PEI. Laura Bisso married Jean Louis Moulin.
Laura's father was Thomas Biso. Any connection?
Regards, Moe

Message 2
Hi Michelle,
We don't have a lot of information on this family. We have talked to
relatives a couple of years ago living in P.E.I. who told us that the
spelling of their name was Bissault. Our mother Laura May Bisso
married Louis Jean Moulin May 24, 1932 in St. Dunstan's Bastilica in
Charlottown, P.E.I.
There seems to be many different spellings of this name, do you think
there is a connection to the other families on this site? Our father
changed the spelling of Moulin to Mollin by looping the "u" on his
marriage certificate.
We have relatives nearby who use the spelling Moulin.
Thanks for this site.

Hello everyone hope you are all well and happy.

My mother has recieved a letter from a lady who married into a Beeso
family.
Her husbands father was a Stephen Beeso, he had brothers, William
James, Edward and Michael, and sisters Elizabeth, Christine , Angela
and Mary. These were born in Holyrood.
Their parents were Michael Beeso (born around Badger Newfoundland)
and Alice Mason from holyrood. They settled in holyrood. The family
later moved to Bell island.
The son Edward moved back to holyrood, Michael Married a Bertha Doyle
and moved to cameron New Jersey. Mary moved to Nova Scotia, Angela
moved to New Jersey and Christine moved to St Johns NFL.
The lady who wrote the letter says they are the only Beeso's on bell
island now.

Does anyone recognise these people and where they fit on the tree? I
would imagine they are related to me as my family branch is Beeso
too, any info would be great.

Thanks
Michelle

Oh yes sorry about that I should have put that, do apologise.
Tonight I have been going through Mike Cahills final version of the
tree and updated mine. I have left John Bisson and Francis as
separate people for now, and they do appear at present to be that way
as the info for their children is different, but still am not
positive. The birth dates of both this mens children are very similar
but they do seem to show two separate families at the moment. This
really is a big puzzle isnt it!

Note the various spellings that are place in the will. Also wonder
who is father James is. Wonder if this was made before going

The Besso file that Michelle has posted from me (Evelyn Morrissey) is
just the result of my "musing" over the plethora of similar names we
have in the first 3 generations of the Besso and trying to place tem
in the correct generations and attached to the correct parents. If you
read the file you will find various explanations of why I did what I
did.....BUT..in no way was this version of the Besso family tree ever
intended to be totally correct...so please read it with that in mind.
In fact the more I look at it myself the more I think that "Francis
John" and "John" could be the same person and not brothers as I
proposed and "Anne Gosse" and "Catherine Gosse" are the same person &
not sisters as I proposed....but it is an interesting concept don't
you think?!
So if these people are the same person..and "Frances John" married
Catherine? Anne Gosse in 1897....my first question is: was he born in
1865 or 1876?? and my second question is: was Katherine MaKay a second
wife of Francis John?? Omce we get that sorted out then we can deal
with the offspring...

Hiya now we have a major confusion between trees of where francis
john besson fits. I have found a marriage record dating 6/12/1796
between a john bissom and anne gosse in harbour grace.

now Len Besaw has Francis John Besson born 1765 married to Ann Gross
daughter of Robert Gross and Catherine Pike .

Craig Besaw has Francois "Francis" John Besson born 1765 approx,
married Anne Gosse 6/12/1796 in harbour grace nfl.

Mike Cahill has John Bissou/Besso born about 1776 married Mary Ann
Gosse on 6/12/1796 (same as craigs) in harbour grace.

Evelyn Morrisey has Francis John Besson(1765), married to Catherine
gosse about 1796 and Katherine Mckay about 1801. But there is
confusion as she has John Besson(1776) as a separate person who
married Anne Gosse 6/12/1796 (same date again) and their children
are born around the same time as Francis and Katherine Mckay's
children, so this couldnt be the same man with a different wife.

Now it seems the Anne or Mary anne seems to be a common theme, but we
need to establish whether John and Francis John are the same person?

Has anyone got any thoughts on this?
