I bought two sets of lights from my local garden centre just before
Christmas. They are really beautiful but, perhaps rather stupidly, I
joined the two sets together. Now they are not nearly so bright and I
wondered if anyone could tell me why. The thing I really liked about
them was that they were much brighter than most Christmas lights. I'm
not an electrician and can't work out why the brightness would change
just because I have joined them.

Any advice would be great as my wife is really upset. They were her
favourite lights!
