RESOLUTION NO. 1296
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING ALL NEWSPAPERS, RADIO, AND TELEVISION STATIONS
BASED IN THE PROVINCE OF PAMPANGA TO ALLOT AT LEAST A WEEKLY COLUMN OR
ONE (1) HOUR WEEKLY BROADCAST, RESPECTIVELY, USING THE KAPAMPANGAN
LANGUAGE AS MEDIUM OF EXPRESSION TO PRESERVE, STRENGTHEN, AND
PROPAGATE THE KAPAMPANGAN CULTURE.

WHEREAS, Culture is the sum total of ways of living built up by a
group of human beings and transmitted from one generation to another;
WHEREAS, the Kapampangans have a unique culture that is fast
deteriorating as a result of assimilation of different peoples and
tribes, speaking different languages and sporting varies cultures due
to rapid urbanization and aggressive business pursuits;
WHEREAS, there is a need to rekindle interest in the preservation,
strengthening, and propagation of the Kapampangan culture throughout
the province to arrest its past decline;
WHEREAS, the best medium in expressing the Kapampangans' aspiration as
a people and asserting their cultural identity is by using the
Kapampangan tongue;
WHEREAS, media like newspaper, radios, and televisions are effective
vehicles in promoting the Kapampangan culture through the use of the
Kapampangan language as medium of expression.
NOW THEREFORE,
THE SANGGUNIANG PANLALAWIGAN OF PAMPANGA, in session assembled:
RESOLVED, that the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Pampanga requests, as
it hereby requests, all newspapers, radio, and television stations
based in the Province of Pampanga to allot at least a weekly column or
one (1) hour weekly broadcast, respectively, using the Kapampangan
language as medium of expression to preserve, strengthen, and
propagate the Kapampangan culture.
RESOLVED FINALLY, that copies of this resolution be furnished all
different newspapers, radio, and television stations based in the
Province of Pampanga and all concerned agencies whether local or
national, for their information and guidance.
