Finally, on that confounded accord between the GRP and the MILF, The Philippine STAR came up with that report and editorial on what Press Secretary Jess Dureza was thinking aloud… that this accord would need Charter change (Cha-cha). But doing a Cha-cha just for this accord is totally wrong. This country needs Charter change to depoliticize it, which federalism can help solve. But do we have the political will to usher in these real political changes to make ours a better-run country? I doubt it… it would be akin to China's getting rid of the politburo! Is this really a democracy?

Come to think of it, this mess created by the GRP panel will probably be the brain twister for the month. Since the government is busy giving away jurisdiction, how far off are we from following the "Federal" form of government? Cebu would certainly want to insure their safety, prosperity and uniqueness as "An Island off the Philippines"! So if we can't beat them, shall we join them? Or is this what the twisted tactician of the Arroyo administration really wanted, an excuse to rewrite the Constitution?
