RE: [BMW e24 Club] Inside Door Panels

Prise out the mirror adjusting switch. It just pulls straight out. It's
surprisingly big.

In the hole that's left, there are two screws. Remove them. There is a
screw at each end of the top padding. remove them and lift the top padding
clear of the window seal and the door locking button. The door pull and the
top half of the arm rest can be removed now by nudging the base of the arm
rest forwards towards the front of the car to release the rear clip and then
inwards to release the two front ones. The door pocket is now held in place
by three screws which you should remove and twist the door pocket free of
the clip at the front. The backing can now be removed simply by pulling it
free.

The spring clips holding the backing on should be replaced. - these are the
ones you describe as broken I think. I think the part number is
51.411.870.718 - a few pence each.

Reassembly is, as they say, a reversal of removal.

An hour's worth - tops.

Subject: [BMW e24 Club] Inside Door Panels

Looks like my inside driver side door panel is coming off.

At first the door panel was always coming out of the hole at the end

of the door (bottom corner). But last night I was cleaning the
leather and accidentally pulled it back. The little pegs that go
into little wholes on the door seemd to have broken off. :(

I'm a little scared to take the door panel off because I think I
might harm the mirror switch and the tweeter speaker.

Anyone know where I can find some pictures or instructions online on

how to repair it?
