Hi Borough babies...
We've set up the Riverside Parents and Carers Association and need
you to sign up!! Our latest news follows:
Yesterday we were shown around the Downside Fisher Youth Club (being
renamed Training for Life, Bermondsey), currently being renovated
and which will open in February. It's really an amazing, vast
building. It's 2 minutes from Tower Bridge, on Druid Street, and will
have a crèche, swimming pool, gym and hopefully a huge soft play
area.
We're having meetings with the organisers to present them with our
wishlist which we think should include:
Definitely a big soft play area
Baby/child swimming classes
Adult swimming/gym access while baby is looked after in crèche
Access to the café and juice bar at set times for breastfeeding
café/mum and toddler groups to run alongside each other.
Bringing groups like diddy dance/whippersnappers/tumble tots etc into
the area
Toddler football/sports classes, particularly at weekends so dads can
get involved
If anyone's free on Tuesday afternoon and fancies getting together on
Potters Fields to discuss from 3.30pm (wet weather venue, the café at
the bottom of City Hall). Or feel free to drop ideas on email to
info@...
BUT THE REALLY IMPORTANT THING IS: we're being taken seriously as a
group whose ideas have to be listened to on the basis of the names
from our potters field petition, but we need you all to officially
join up to the RIVERSIDE PARENTS AND CARERS ASSOCIATION. You can now
log on to www.riversideparents.co.uk and follow the instructions on
the JOIN button. it's just one quick email!
Thank you so much!! Hopefully this will be the perfect venue for
boroughbabies to meet up in, in the new year.
