NEW SINGLE BED

Does anyone wants a new single bed with orthopedic mattress?

I bought just to receive the grandmothers to see my baby and it was used only 4
weeks, but I need space in my house.

You just have to pick it up in my house, by London Bridge!

Hello everyone.
I bought a babydan babyden from a Borough mom last year but ended up never using
it as I was given another one as a gift. I bought it for £30 and even though
never used it am happy to sell sell it for £25 since it's taking up unnecessary
space in my small flat. Pick up only please. I live off of Bermondsey street.
Below is the original email on Boroughbabies advertising the babyden:
I have a great piece of kit to sell- a babydan baby den which basically can
either be a playpen, room divider or fire guard. It is easy to put up and down
and I have found it really useful especially going away to less baby friendly
houses or hotels.

I bought from Amazon for £78 and am looking to sell for £30.

Are you around on the 3rd August to help out during the Fun Day we have planned?

We are really keen to create a committee of local parents to help us to make
this a great day (I think we all remember how good it was last year!). So if
you are interested please PM me. We are looking for parents who can bake cakes,
make sandwiches, volunteer a few hours on the day and help with the preparation.
We are also looking for people with first aid skills to help out on the day.

Dear Mummies,

I have a good friend of mine who would like to spend the summer here to brush up
on her English and she is looking for some nanny/au-pair work. She is a teacher
in Slovakia in an elementary school and she is great with kids. She will be
teaching conversational English from September and beforehand she wanted to
practice a bit.
Her sister lives near London Bridge and she would be staying with her.

If you are looking for some help for the summer, please let me know and I'll put
you in touch.

Any questions, please feel free to ask.

Thank you.

We are organising a picnic for our little girl next weekend and would love some
bunting. I'm guessing lots of people might have some left over after Jubilee
celebrations this weekend. If anyone would be willing to lend it out, we'd be
very grateful. Not Union Jack / Jubilee-specific designs I guess, but any with
more general colourful designs would be hugely appreciated, thanks. Would pick
up and return at a time to suit you.

Otherwise - does anyone have recommendations to where to buy nice (reasonably
priced) bunting, either online or in local-ish shops?

Thanks for your help, sorry it's a bit off-topic.

Not sure where you live - we're SE5 - so this might not be the right
area for you, but we're having a picnic in Myatt's Field Park and
hiring Longfield Hall next door for our indoor bit. But you can also
hire the one o'clock club in Myatt's Fields (called the Mulberry Bush)
which has indoor and outdoor areas and the huge playground nextdoor.

Hi

Can anyone recommend a good swimming class for under there's. I don't mean a
group water play session but rather proper classes ideally where I am in the
pool as well. My daughter has decided that "I can swim" - as a consequence she
is refusing all water aids and barely let's me hold her. She has no water fear
at all and happily goes under water when she slips out of my hands. She can
kick her legs and arms with her belly right up as well. For her safety and my
sanity (she shouts "leave me I can swim by myself" the whole time in the pool)
and I think we need lessons.

Any advice would be gratefully received!

Thanks

Hi Rebekah,

We do classes with swimming nature. The closest pool is in Queen
mother leisure centre in Victoria so a bit of a trek. But the classes
are really good. You get in the water with the child and it's quite
structured. My daughter is in the baby class but the next class up may
be better for you. I see quite confident and independent swimmers in
that class and am often impressed. The teachers are really good as
well.

Hi Rebekah,

I have tried most swimming lessons in central and south east London(!) and I
think that Born to Swim at Wavelengths is just great. They make the bridge
between baby underwater swimming and proper swimming. Mandi who owns the
company is great with kids and I can't recommend her highly enough. The
people answering the phones have a tendency to wind people up the wrong way
but the teaching is phenomenal. She does classes on Mondays and Thursdays.
Ironically I'm about to try Swimming Nature again just because of timing
issues - I think they are great for over 3s but wasn't so impressed when I
tried a baby class about 5 years ago. Will keep you posted!

Hi Everyone

I got a really good response to this, and also checked out some old posts as
well. Thanks so much to everyone who emailed me, and in particular, good luck
and best wishes to Claire H with her big day looming at the weekend :-)

I thought it might be helpful if I listed the venues that people either had
used, or thought could be used. Obviously some of these are untested, and I have
not used any. But it might be a useful start for others who are in the same
boat.

List of Possible Venues for Naming Ceremony/Christening Function (untested and
in no particular order).

If you are on a budget you might want to check with the swim school at
Camberwell Pool. The tuition is good quality and it is half the price of other
schools (£60 for ten lessons). The water is warm and clean, with facilities
recently refurbished. The catch is that you would need to check whether they are
running stage 2+ courses, though, as our boys are doing the beginners classes
which would not be advanced enough for your little one.

Hello fellow Boroughers,

Just a quick reminder that tomorrow's concert (Friday) is our last concert
of the season in Borough. All children on half-term break are welcome and
come for free. St. Mary's is finally going to start renovation works next
Monday, when we return for our Fall Season in September, it'll be even more
gorgeous than now.

See info for the concert below, and see you at the concert!

Jubilation!*
Friday June 8th, 2012, 10:30am
St Mary Magdalen Church, 193 Bermondsey St, SE1 3UW
Featuring: Philippa Mo (violin), Miaomiao Yu (piano)

If you couldn't make it down to the Thames for the Royal Pageant, come to
our concert instead - our last performance in Borough before we break for
the summer!

Celebrate with us as we perform some of the diamonds of British classical
music- Elgar's magnificent Nimrod, the delightful Greensleeves and
Beethoven's version of God Save the Queen. Bring a friend, bring a flag,
bring your voice and let's raise the roof to Queen Elizabeth II and all the
people that make Britain Great!

Miaomiao has uploaded photos from past concerts on our
website<http://www.classicswithmybaby.com>and facebook. You can share
the photo with your friends by tagging yourself
in our facebook <http://www.facebook.com/classicswithmybaby>album. Let us
know if you'd like any particular photo as a large jpeg.

See you soon at a concert!

Miaomiao and Philippa
