Description

The Opera House in Boscombe has had several incarnations and provided entertainment for several generations.

The WavyBlue artist's group ( Miriam Troth and Diane Roberts) was awarded a Bournemouth Arts Grant 2008 to run the oral history project Nights at the Opera House

This site contains memories of the Opera House.

April 4th.met John Butterworth( owner of Opera House)

Thursday September 18th 10a.m Informal free illustrated discussion/talk at Southbourne library.

October 24th.---November 14th. Exhibition at The Gallery Space Central library.

Friday October 31st.2p.m. Local historian Michael Lunn gave a free illustrated talk at the central library.

Professor Emeritus Vincent May (editor of the streets of Bournemouth project ----patron Bill Bryson) and Pat Gargan spoke following Michael Lunn on the 31st of October at the central library to an audience of 50 people, including Bob Chapman ,erstwhile mayor of Bournemouth.

June 13th. Met Pat Gargan, Manager of the Streets of Bournemouth project.
