Hello from Selwin Gentle! 1960's H & D Memories.   Message List

I came across your website and was very intrigued. Before my Family
and I (then 11 yrs.), left England (1966) for Canada, I travelled the
H & D's frequently. Used the "school bus" from Sandford School to
Holton Heath crossroads. After an operation at Royal Victoria
Hospital in Boscombe, my mother and I travelled Route "89" which
although stopped at Poole Bus Station, sometimes would carry on to
Bournemouth Bus Station. If not we would take (from Poole) either
Route 1, 2, 3, or 4 into Bournemouth. Then we would take one of the
Bournemouth Trolley Buses to Boscombe.
I would enjoy hearing from any Driver or Conductor who was crewed on
Route "89". Actually I would enjoy hearing from anyone who remembers
that route.
I, myself work for the Toronto Transit Commission as a Subway
Driver/Guard for almost the past 29 years, but I still have very fond
memories of the H & D in and around Wareham, Poole, and
Bournemouth.
