Re: H&D destination blinds?

Hello,

I have in my possession a number of Bournemouth blinds. I have a
few destination blinds, the eldest coming from one of the 1963
Leyland Titans (these being the first buses to introduce the four
glass front screens). The newest I have is one of the dayglo yellow
types that are still in use on Fleetlines and Volvo Citybuses.

I also have a large via blind from the front screen from about 1970,
another from about 1980 (when the font changed) and a modern dayglo
version as well.

If you are after a list of displays, the excellent "Bournemouth
Trolleybuses" book which was published by Trolleybooks a couple of
years ago has lists of trolleybus displays.

Finally, I also managed to get hold of the front destination screen
panel from Atlantean ORU 236G when it was being scrapped by an
operator in South Wales. One day I may try and rig up a set of
blinds for display (Sad or what!!)

Regards,
James.
