Of course, thinking about it, the definitive answer would be to
materialise, Terminator-style, in the coach station during the
evening of July 24 1976 - and thereby prevent the fire which led to
the station's demise. Or perhaps that was what caused it - all those
sparks flying around...

Interesting to speculate what would have happened had the fire not
occured. I guess it would have been sold off for development into a
shopping complex sometime during the 80s, following the same fate as
Southampton bus station. Better to have gone out in a blaze, however
ignominious, than be pulled down at the behest of greedy developers.
