Hi John,
I wonder if the ex H&D bus that I saw in Maui is one that you may have been
on. Check out the picture of it at

Subject: [Bournemouth Bus Station] Funny Memories
All these memories of the bus station shame that a few more ex H&D
staff don't join in there must be some wonderful stories to tell. I
heard some amazing stories while I was a conductor For H&D during the
sixties from other crew members. One that happened to me about 1965. I
was doing a 22 all rounder. (Poole to Bournemouth via Wimborne.) We
left Bournemouth bus station early evening (it was dark) It was a
route I hadn't done very much and once we had left Moordown I was
lost. Somewhere out in the sticks a gentleman came downstairs needing
a toilet urgently. We pulled up at an unlit bus shelter with a crowd
of people waiting for the bus. I suggested that he waited till
everyone boarded and done his business behind the shelter. He got off
and everybody crowded on. Without thinking when the last person got on
I rang the bell it was miles down the road that I remembered the
gentleman going for a pee. After all these years I still remember him
but I wonder does he still remember me.........
