Bowtech Products continue to expand their AquaVision range of products, with the release of the SURVEYOR-100 colour zoom camera.
This camera is ideally suited to Nuclear applications, although with its 100 metre rating it also makes for a quality, yet cost effective shallow water viewing solution.
In an irradiated environment the SURVEYOR-100 with its 36:1 optical zoom allows the camera to be located further away from the subject being viewed, compared to traditional cameras. This reduces the effects of radiation, resulting in an increased camera life.
An electro polished stainless steel housing with a Spectrocil non browning fused silica window further enhances the longevity.

One of the many unique features of this camera is the advanced back light compensation technology that dramatically improves the camera's dynamic range, resulting in clear image reproduction in extreme high-contrast environments, known as wide dynamic.
The camera captures the same image twice, first with a normal shutter speed and then with a higher shutter speed. The dark areas are captured at normal shutter speed and the bright areas are captured at high shutter speed. These are then combined into one image using an advanced DSP LSI, thus clearly reproducing high-contrast images of the original scene.

Advances in underwater vision systems are often initiated by a
customer's demand for increased ability and capability to cater for
new subsea technologies or specific underwater tasks.
This has driven companies like Bowtech Products to develop and provide
the technology to meet these expectations. Whether that is for small
ROV tooling intervention cameras, NDT Inspection quality,
oceanographic survey, low light salvage work, diver helmet mounted
cameras - or any other of the myriad of modern subsea tasks that
requires a complete and advanced imaging solution - companies like
Bowtech have led the way.
The latest generation of Bowtech Products ultra low light and HD
cameras reflects this progress.
The lack of available tubes for low light SIT cameras meant that an
alternative or improved technology had to be found.
Bowtech developed and were the first to market this next generation
camera for ultra low light viewing. The Bowtech Explorer EXTREME using
Cooled BIT EMCCD technology has now achieved this.
In the case of salvage companies, who by their nature need to sell
film and documentary rights, one of the key driving forces in product
improvement is to bring HD quality subsea video to the surface and
beyond. Having manufactured one of the first HD cameras, Bowtech
Products are now testing a unique and compact 1080i/720p camera with
fiber output to cater for this customer driven requirement.
This 6,000m grade 5 titanium alloy housed camera, with sapphire glass
window, can also provide component or HD-SDI output with a wide
variety of matched connector solutions, cabling and complimentary LED
lighting. The Bowtech Surveyor HD colour camera, with unique fiber
output also has an optical zoom of 10:1.
Such progress means that high profile underwater discoveries can be
filmed in all their HD glory. If in any doubt what an HD camera can
do, look at a bank note with the naked eye and then with an HD camera.
This will give you an idea of the definition, hidden clarity and
information that HD video now brings to the subsea world.
As a distributor for SEA CON (europe) Ltd, Bowtech Products are
pleased to announce a new addition to the popular SEA-MATE underwater
electrical wet-mate connector range.
Adapted from the standard diver mated screwed coupling version, the
SEA-MATE ROV connector was primarily developed for an oceanographic
subsea monitoring system which had to be modular to allow for easy
installation and reconfiguration. The new connector's key requirements
were that it had to be low cost with wet-mate ability to a depth of
13,500 psi (9,250m) without using costly fluid filled pressure
compensated connector options.
The new SEA-MATE ROV series fills the gap between low cost rubber
moulded connectors and high integrity oil-filled pressure compensated
connectors. The technology adapted and enhanced in this new connector
comes from the well-proven WET-CON/ALL-WET industry standard
connectors that have been manufactured by SEA CON® for several decades.
The SEA-MATE ROV is ideally suited for systems that do not require
high numbers of mate and de-mate cycles and those that allow the
socket portion of the connector to be recovered for maintenance every
5 to 10 mate and breaks (it is recommended a full sealing cap is
utilized during this process to protect the pins from damage).
Having successfully completed and passed third party customer testing,
new contact configurations are due to be added shortly in order to
expand and enhance the range.

Bowtech’s ever expanding AquaVision range sees the launch
of their smallest LED underwater light to date. The LED-800 is but 3 inches
in length, less than 2 inches in diameter at the lens and 1 inch in the body.
Featuring their latest LED technology, the light produced
is ideal for colour video inspection or viewing tasks - especially for diving
and ROV inspection applications.
The 300m rated lamp is manufactured with an anodised
aluminium housing which offers proven corrosive resistance.
This exceptional lifetime leads to an enormous 'in
service' cost saving and reduction in down time over lamps with incandescent
bulbs.
The LED array used in the light delivers a bright white
light of 800 lumens which is equal to or greater than the majority of
incandescent lights of this type.
Further development in Bowtech’s burgeoning AquaVision
range hails the launch of their unique LED Hyperbaric lighting, bringing a
lunge forward in safety and reliability through innovation utilising advancedtechnology.
The 100,000 hour life LED-320/80 Chamber and LED-360 Bunk
Lights have been designed specifically for use within the Hyperbaric Diving
environment, whether that be in Hyperbaric Chambers, TUP’s, Diving
Bells or even Wet Bells.
The Chamber Lamps are available in a Dry or Wet options,
which are then fitted with a helium relief valve to ensure the safe egress of
any gas which may migrate through the sealing faces during compression, thus
eliminating any potentially explosive hazard.
The lights run very cool compared with conventional lamps,
of an equivalent output, due to the use of highly efficient, high brightness
Bowtech LED clusters. They also produce at least double the lumen output.
This of course removes the need for a heavy heat sink.
When supplied as a Chamber lamp, the light is populated
with a White and Red LED cluster to allow them to be remotely switched from
white light for the waking hours and red light during resting hours.
If supplied as a Bunk light, an extended bezel is fitted
to provide a focused beam.
Either lamp can be fitted with an on/off switch built into
an integrated cable assembly, to provide personal control.
Hot on the heels of the acclaimed launch of
Bowtech’s AquaVision LED-1600 light comes the unique LED-3000-BR (Bulb
Replacement) LED LightEngine
Featuring their latest LED technology it hails a new era
in underwater illumination. The LED-3000-BR has been designed for retrofit to
existing lamps such as the popular ROS QL-3000, or it can be supplied as a
complete new lamp.
A unique feature is that
it is capable of self regulating its temperature, enabling the lamp to operate
in air as well as underwater.
The LED-3000-BR LED's produce over 4 times more light per
watt, than an incandescent bulb.
This exceptional lifetime leads to an enormous 'in
service' cost saving and reduction in down time over lamps with incandescent
bulbs.
The LightEngine delivers a bright white light (6,600 k)
with a high through water transmission. The light yield is 2,980 lumens when
installed in a ROS QL-3000 housing and the light produced is ideal for
floodlighting, video inspection and observation.
Press Release - BP0701 - 19 February, 2007
BOWTECH ANNOUNCE LED UNDERWATER LIGHT
Bowtech lights the way with the release of their first commercially
available LED Underwater Light.
The Bowtech LED-1600 Underwater Light is a first in the Bowtech
AquaVision range. Featuring the latest LED technology this light
produces 4 times more light per watt, than an incandescent bulb.
The LED cluster has no fragile filament, is highly shock resistant
(30G) and robust. With excellent longevity, the Bowtech LED-1600 has
an effective lifetime greater than 100,000 hours.
This exceptional lifetime leads to an enormous `in service' cost
saving over lamps with incandescent bulbs. Bulb change outs are far
quicker too.
The 3,000 metre rated housing is made from hard anodised aluminium
with a blue hot epoxy powder coating, giving proven corrosion
resistance. The housing is fitted with an acrylic window.
The LED array delivers a bright white light (6,600 k) of 1,600
lumens, which is equal to or greater than the majority of
incandescent lights of this type. The light produced is ideal for
video, with a high through water transmission.
