I know that (for obvious reasons) most of the people reading this will live in Brighton. However I'm out in mid-Sussex and a couple of us here are looking to see if anyone wants to join us for weekend runs. We don't see the point in going out to the coast, where all the CTC groups leave from, only to take an outing to the area where we already live. My desire is for a little gang of us to get together somewhere between Haywards Heath / E.Grisntead and do a 40 - 50 mile Saturday or Sunday ride at a pace which is well off club chain gang but, nevertheless, pure riding rather than sightseeing or pub/cafe hopping. We could arrange things on a Thursday or Friday night - having checked weather forecasts and weekend commitments etc - so as not to make it too formal and try our best to suit everyone. And we could make sure that the ride didn't take over the whole day (unless we wanted it to now and then). If this worked well, it'd be great to have a core of people who could (if they wanted to) take on some track stuff or long distance tours etc together.
