On a wider point, one thing I've always thought would be a good idea for the
summer is rides in the evening during the week. There are a couple of reasons
why I like this, one is that in the middle of the summer the evening/night is
much cooler :) Also I do like riding at night, I'm a bit odd that way...

Another odd thing about me is that as long as it isn't raining really badly I
actually prefer riding in the winter (during the day) to riding in the summer.
This is because it is cooler and when cycling I find that as long as I'm wearing
the right gear I am at a very nice temperature. In the height of the summer it
gets too hot for me!
