Provisonally I'm looking at Friday 30th May at 3.00pm at Preston Park -
this is easy to reach by train (Preston Park Station) by bus and has
parking. It has restuarants, loos and is a nice park.
I'll bring a blanket and cakes!
Wanna come along? Go on.....don't leave me knitting there all on my
lonsome :-(
Once I guage interest I'll post a spot to meet that is easy to find.
Peri.
I'd be interested in that, at least some Fridays. Fridays are supposed to be my day off... can't think of anything better than knitting in the Pav gardens with other knitters.

Hello
I am thinking about trying to organise a regular outdoor knitting meetup throughout the summer. I met up with someone on Friday and we knit in the Pav Gardens and it was so lovely, that I'd like to repeat the experience.
I thought as everyone has different commitments that the meetup could alternate a weekday afternoon with a weekend afternoon.
Anyone interested?? Or if you have ideas, suggestions for good locations (I like the idea of varying these to) I would love to hear from you.

Subject: Happy Together - Brighton Festival
Hello,
I'm following up an email that my colleague James Turnbull sent to you
about a commission for this year's Brighton Festival, called 'Happy
Together'.
I've attached some information for you about the project, and wondered
if I might come and talk to your group about how you could become
involved.
We're essentially looking to work with a small number of groups based in
Brighton, who we can work with for some contained pieces within the
overall parade.
The piece is loosely based on the hen and stag ritual that we see played
out on our streets most weekends - especially here in Brighton! But it's
also about men and women and how they behave towards each other,
communicate and date. The title maybe suggests they are happier
together with their own sex and therefore questions the notion of
marriage.
I do hope this sounds interesting to you - we'd love to have you
involved!
I look forward to hearing from you,
Kind regards

We were going for 14 June - Saturday - as the following day is Father's Day.

Lou's original suggestion was to meet at the Peace Statue in Hove - any other
ideas? I don't think we'll have much in the way of London visitors, as IKnit
are having a treasure hunt for WWKIP the same day, so the venue needn't be in
central Brighton.
Time say 12noon - 4pm? You wouldn't have to commit to be there for all four
hours if you didn't want to....
See you all next week,

Hello
My name is Jenny and I have just moved to Brighton with my 6 year old
son. I have wanted to live in Brighton for many years and have now
managed it, hooray!!!!
I have been knitting since I was a teenager and am looking forward to
meeting some new knitters. I am currently mainly working on the Debbie
Abrahams mystery blanket.
Hopefully see you soon, assuming I can find a baby sitter!
best wishes
Jenny
There's now a Ravelry group for this - one of the threads called 'What to do'
has pattern suggestions etc. Search groups for 'Oxfam' and you'll find it.

I got this message from Oxfam about knitting squares for a giant baby blanket, which I thought sounded like a good cause to support. (see below)
I have replied asking for some more info. and said it might be a good project to knit a 9 inch square while we're down the beach for Knitting in Public day.
The nice lady from Oxfam said she might be able to get some media coverage (which I'm sure we could too if we wanted) but my response was, ok, but I don't want to detract from the knitting in public bit!
Plus, I don't want to liaise with the paper, or any other media! (I got very bored and annoyed with local rag at the Creative Stitches show!)
So any volunteers to talk to media, IF we end up knitting on the beach, and IF some people want to knit for Oxfam while we're down there? (no obligation to!)

Hello,
I am a campaigns assistant for Oxfam GB working on our Health and Education for All Campaign which aims to change government policy with regards to health and education. It demands free public health care and education for all. Denying millions of people the right to an education and health care effectively deepens poverty and causes suffering on an unimaginable scale.
As part of this campaign we are working on a knitting campaign that aims to reduce the numbers of women who die needlessly every year in pregnancy and childbirth. Millions of women in poor countries get low-quality healthcare or are forced to go through pregnancy and childbirth without it altogether, meaning that, every minute, a mother dies because she doesn't have the access to medical care she needs.
The campaign is being launched in partnership with the parenting website mumsnet.com and knitters will be asked to make a 9-inch squares for a giant baby blanket, with each knitted square representing a mother who did not survive pregnancy or childbirth to be able to care for her baby.
I was wondering whether your group would be interested in getting involved with this project in some way?

Hi everyone - I mentioned to a few people last night that I have the
author Stella Duffy coming to the library soon to do a talk, and
wondered if anyone would like a free ticket.
It's Thursday 17th April, 7pm at Jubilee Library.
If you would like a free ticket, email me and I will bring them to
knitting next week.
Stella Duffy is an excellent speaker and her books are really good -
her latest novel, which she will be talking about that night is called
The Room of Lost Things and it has been longlisted for the Orange prize
for Fiction this week.

Hi all,
Someone left a sock pattern behind tonight, it's a Paton's pattern for
several different pairs - stripey, plain, argyle and cable.
I've got it safe and sound, but won't be at Starbucks next week. If
it's yours and you'd like it back sooner than 2 weeks' time, just let
me know and I'll post it or something

Hiya Ladies
Due to unforeseen circumstances at work, I won't be at S'n'B until (for
the earliest) the first Wednesday of next month thanks to a few people
walking out. I, however, still have the story scarf and need someone to
take it off my hands so it can continue to go around. I will be in the

Monday, which will be all day and every weekend all day (apart from
